[raw]
made by _Kassjak_ for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Stuck in the clock's infinite time loop (or till it runs out of juice), stomp on spawning enemies and collect their droppings to increase your score.

How to play:

Stomp on the flying clock bats

Avoid colliding with the gears while grounded

Score big juicy numbers

I was so confused when I first started the game because I didn't noticed my character right away. I died in 2s but got the hand of it on my second attempt.
That was pretty fun and the color palette is nice, but yeah it's just a bit hard to read what's happening at first glance, especially with the rolling enemies.

This is epic. You nailed the theme. I liked the graphics and the music and sound effects added to the atmosphere. At the very beginning, it was a little difficult to figure out what was going on, even with the pictorial explanation at the start, so maybe a short tutorial would be nice, but I did figure it out pretty quickly, so maybe I was just impatient. It was really fun to play when I got the hang of it, and some semblance of a strategy worked out, and I liked the screen with the score and time on it. Overall pretty awesome

Was very fun to play! I really liked the graphics and the gameplay! Sometime I wasn't sure if I killed the bat or got damaged, but otherwise pretty fun game!

I really enjoyed this! The simple monochromatic art style fits perfectly with the simplicity of the games mechanics. It feels quite polished and jumping feels quite satisfying (while I did find some bugs that when hit would just hit revert me back to the start of my jump).

The movement feels good but as with any 360 degree radial 2d game, it get can confusing when the player is on the top and you hold right only to go left (as the movement is relative to the player not the world). I don't have much to offer there as it is an inherent flaw of the style of the game and not really on you guys.

One criticism I do have is that the design of the enemies make it impossible to not get hit by them when you attack them (which is why you guys rapidly introduce hp I assume). Adding some form of a shield at your feet when jumping to prevent getting attacked always could help with this.

Fantastic job, a well polished experience that I think is underrated for sure.

nice game and polished!

I was confused the first time because it didn't say in the instruction about pressing space so I did just run around which actually become the session I survived the longest but with 0 score

Edit: oh I see the space now! I'm just blind and stupid :)

Edit2: ok. this game is kind of addicting :)

Good concept!
It's hard to understand if the player can hit bats or not.

There is a bug when you die and restart the game your score don't come back to 0.

Fun little game! There were some strange things happening though, sometimes I would jump but end up on the same side if I got hit during the jump. Is that intentional?

@pranjalbisht Yeah, it was supposed to be intentional, but it doesn't seem to be a good feature since people seem to find it as a bug other than anything else.

Very interesting concept, it is a bit hard to dodge the shot but fortunately we can recover HP by killing enemy.
Like the art style, great work !

Nice little arcade game, though I had some problems understanding that you gotta *bonk* the bat but I had some fun playing it.

I think what are guts could be more clear. Besides that it is a pretty cool game and it is nice to see your score at the end. I think it is missing a high score and that would have been nice.

I liked the concept, and the pixel art with limited palette :)

The only thing I'd complain is that any key can be used to leave the game over screen. Given I was pressing lots of keys while playing I kept going past that screen back to the title, so I have no idea what my high score was

Heya! Thanks for submitting your game to my stream at [wwww.twitch.tv/drjavasaurus](www.twitch.tv/drjavasaurus). I really enjoyed the game and I love the simplistic, yet extremely efficient use of art and audio. One minor issue I have is that the bats fire way too enthusiastically, I had no idea what was going on as sometimes I popped back to one edge or continued my path to the next, which was confusing. Nonetheless, great entry! Well done

@javasaurus Hey, thanks for your feedback! I agree the firing is way too frequent to be able to dodge and there're definitely many unbalanced aspects we didn't have the time to even out. Like many have said before, people were confused about the bouncing when hitting a bat. Thinking back at it, it probably shouldn't've been added since it seems to cause a lot of confusion.

Also sorry about leaving the stream pretty quickly. I had multiple streamers on and had to free a lot of my bandwidth by closing some of them. I had intentions on checking back on the stream, but accidentally forgot about it, so I checked out the after-stream video instead.

Anyways I hope you have a great day! Cheers!

Fun game! The use of the theme is great, because time is a never-ending loop. Great job!

**This was really good!** The idea is simple and straight to the point which makes the gameplay really good! The controls are tight and straight-forward and the scaling of the difficulty as time goes on is also on-point. The bolts recovering HP is a great choice to keep the player in-game despite sometimes getting hit by bats.

From there, I'd say that my only distress was what everyone has already mentioned in the previous comments, where at the beginning, it feels like the bats fire faster than you can get to them when you jump between sides. I also thought that timing my jumps to fall on top of the gears would also award points at first, but then I realized it only helps to clear them from the clock faster.

The presentation is _absolutely top-notch_ and I really like the style and all of the polish/juice that the game has, from the flashes, the screenshaking, the trails, to the floating animation for the bolts. I also really like the choice of music that was made!

Congratulations on this first game jam for @bbqgiraffe and I look forward to seeing more from you folks. Cheers! :whale:

Good game! Theme is on point here. Gameplay is fun and feels polished. Mood is upbeat with the music and increasing intensity. Graphics look great, I dig the monochrome palette.

As has been mentioned, I was also uncertain at times whether I was taking damage or not from jumping on bats from different angles.

Anyone else see a face here?

Pretty addictive game I must say. I still have difficulty understanding when you take damage from the rolling enemies and when were extra lives spawning but it did not impact the fun I had playing. I think a tutorial explaining how these mechanic works would be a nice addition as I don't think the first screen explain those very well (it does for the movements but not for the other things).

Other than that, the difficulty curve is quite well implemented and the visual are nice, good game overall

Very cute and clean graphics! Same for the sound design! The game was a bit too difficult for me and I'm not entirely sure whether I got the mechanics figured out exactly but, nevertheless, the game has this certain satisfying, addicting feel to it. I quite enjoyed it.

Very neat graphics and audio! Your style is on point. Really liked jump mechanics, it just feels good. The only problem - projectiles are a bit hard to spot. Maybe you should have added white outline to them. Overall really solid entry!

Hey there ! Thanks for linking us your game (and sorry for the late rating, we were pretty busy these days). Congrats for your entry, it's a pretty good interpretation of the theme, I also liked the duo tone graphic style, animations and UI. As other players, I was pretty lost once I got into the game and confused about what I was doing, so yeah, maybe an animated tutorial would have been nice. I had to try many times to figure out what was actually going on, and then I could appreciate the game. Good job to you!!

Nice entry~! I had fun playing this onee~

Graphics are suuper cuuutee~ and you hit a spot bcs I love both bats :bat: and clocks :clock:

The generating health mechanic is pretty cool~ It feels really good when your HP gets low and you see it fill up by gathering screws and bolts~ It's as if you get a second chance !!

Well donee!!!
