A really nice game! i really like the music but i think that maybe adding an animation for the dodging would be cool.
also just a question but how does this stick w the theme?

I think the idea of a on-rails shooter is pretty nice, although it's a bit slow-paced for my liking. There's also a slight inaccuracy on the crosshair. The source code link on itch.io only gives the solution though, you probably want to just zip up your project directory and send that instead.

@cateye
The way it sticks to the theme is the idea you are trying to protect people while running around shooting people, although I will admit it is a little far fetched
@xpost2000
Ok, I’ll do that. I noticed someone downloaded the source so I’ll put it up in a little while

Thanks for all the helpful feedback 😁

I can see you are an Evan King / Dani fan. Good game. one improvement would be that you could run by yourself

Difficult and it is the music from evan king you havent make the music on your own

Nicely done for the time frame, the enemies definitely need less bloom on the second level though ;)

It can not be a compo game.

Unique take on the on rail shooter genre. Overall a very fun game but the reloading has no feedback whatsoever.

@willypa
Exactly right, I watch Dani a lot.
@joaquim-2009
I have changed the game to a jam game. First jam so not completely clear on rules
@ben657
I know, if you shine the light at enemies, they turn into glowing white blobs
@despiciestboi
Yes, the reloading was put in very last minute, will include next time

Thanks a lot for all the great responses, this is my first game jam and I did not expect this 😁

Very impressive for a 12-year-old programmer. You are already Unity Master :wink:
Why not add a bit off head-bobbing next time. A simple but effective game. Nice entry :thumbsup:

Hey man, nice game! Really good for a twelve years old :-) Reminds me of the vr game Pistol Whip, which i enjoy a lot. For future improvements, the accuracy of the gun could be better, as you have to aim lower than what you intend to hit. It's a really good thing you start making games so early, you are gonnna be a programming master in a few years. Well done on the entry and good luck!!

@batswinger: Yes, I did have pistol whip in my mind while making this game. Thanks for playing!

I'm sorry to tell, but...
The main menu is flickering as hell and movement doesn`t work as tutorial says.

@lloydcorfex: What OS are you running? Also the menu is supposed to flicker, it is supposed to be a flicker effect on the light in the background.

I'm really interested in this game mechanic simple yet effective! Nice idea.

A couple of things I can suggest:

When you lean it would be nice if the camera smoothly moved rather than teleport to the position threw my orientation off when trying to shoot enemies and it was a tad jarring.

Make reloading more noticeable a loading sound, animation, progress bar would do.

Small one but for the ammo count maybe show the capacity of a magazine instead of 9 do 9/9 bullets.

more enemies maybe stop just before walls and enemies flood out - think like the game time crisis!

I just had to note I clicked on the about section and I'm vert surprised/impressed how a 12 year old has completed this work within 48 hours this is a very notable achievement and you should be very proud.

I have mad respect for you

Good job making this game! I actually like the concept and graphics very much! It reminds me a bit of superhot. The shooting is also solid. What you can improve is feedback to the play. Like impact to everything you do with some shake or other effects/animations. But also making the camera more smooth so you don't get confused when you duck. But those are small details that imrpove everything just slightly. And it is also already impressive what you accomplished for this jam!

@mickgerritsen Thanks a lot. I will add in these things when I update the game soon

I have decided I will continue working on this game, thanks so much for all the comments :smile:

Nice work Otis, this was great fun. Nice work, especially for someone so young. I like the concept, and with different enemy types and a few more mechanics it could be great.

A few suggestions: Try to make the aiming more accurate because as distance increases the bullets no longer go where the reticle is pointed. Also, it's be great if movement speed was a bit faster. This could be quick hectic and fun if it was really fast paced.

Good work! I can't wait to see what you come up with for Ludum Dare 47.

@otisdev I`m on Win10 with Chrome.
The whole UI is flickering, not a light source

Man when I was 12 I was not even able to play games correctly, so making them... this is impressive, nice idea, keep going.
