I built the project with 'npm run build' and I then published the game to github pages. I then navigated to /dist/index.html to give you the url. If you go to just <https://scifi6546.github.io/ldjam_46/> you get a 404. The built project is in the git repo.

I almost lost all the sprout, but managed to re-grow part of it somehow :)

Cool game, feels genuinely retro, shame no sounds. Excellent work.

My engine does not support sounds yet. For the next ldjam might incorporate sounds and improve performance.

Cool twist on Missile Command with the implementation of friendly fire! Cool!

I like how this game will suck in a lot of hours, despite its simplistic looks.

Nice game! A really calm kind of music would make even more addictive.

Nice one man, key to winning is escaping flame spawn and running for it!

So so retro. Almost felt like I was playing a game on the command line. Simple but effective, a couple of SFX or music wouldn't go amiss though!

Neat! Reminds me of something I'd play on an old phone, right alongside snake and centipede! :P I was able to escape from being trapped in the explosion if I really smashed the arrow keys quickly, otherwise I couldn't move while the explosion was going off. Not sure if intended behavior.

Very simple and sturdy! Was a bit unsure if there was an ending so had to quit out awhile after the stem reached the top of the screen.

simple, addicting, but needed some time to learn the rules. At first, I don't know which one is aphid, but after sometime playing, I understanding the goal and the gameplay.. Good game.. =)

This was a fun little game! I immediately understood what to do and that simplicity is really nice. I think the delay when you hold down WASD to move, because I didn't realize you actually could instead of just mashing until I started writing this. It's still quite enjoyable, though, nice work!

Pretty minimal, but unique idea! I could see this being a classic arcade game!

Very interesting. I'm impressed with how much you were able to portray in such a small amount of pixels. I think that it might be a little bit too easy, but great game nonetheless :)

I spent a surprising amount of time playing such a simple game! Pretty fun! A few suggestions: once the sprout becomes small it’s impossible to lose since you can just stand in front of it and kill the aphids. Maybe make the aphids come from random directions and angles? Second, I thought the explosion effect was too slow. The whole game pace was a little too slow -- maybe speed it up 2x? Finally: Might I suggest making the main player a ladybug (maybe four pixels checkerboard red and black)? Since they are known for eating aphids :) Good job!

Too slow and a bit too limited in scope. Good concept, just needs some more elaboration. I liked what you did with such a small resolution, though.

Addictive game. Programmer art is best art. Wish there was a score, sounds, and a higher difficulty curve!

Really like the graphics, even tho it's just a few squares, but I'm a sucker for simple look. Don't quite get the rest of the game tho ^^'

Great game! I really enjoyed the simple graphics and I liked the cellular automata-ishness of this title. The game play is nice and simple and reminds me of little classic games like Tamagotchi.

This is a great example of what can be accomplished with very minimal graphics and coding.

For a simple arcade style game like this game feel is really important. So relying on system keyboard repeat isn't great for movement. Lowering keyboard delay in my system preferences helped. I'm on a Mac, so maybe it is better on Windows.

I think it would be really interesting to push the cellular automata aspects of this. With enemies that reproduce to move and more sophisticated plant growth.
