Bjorn to Dance by Tomh
Have you ever gone to bed and dreamt of something more? Well Oolag Bjørn thinks about it every night. His life goal… to be the number one dancer in the Pillage People Dance Troop.
https://youtu.be/PnF99rVH6Og
Help build his confidence as he rehearses his moves in his sleep. Then unleash all those gyrations and pirouettes by memorizing his dances. Mess up too much and you’ll lose the crowd.
Just remember, the dance world can be cruel and feel like you're STUCK IN A LOOP, but this is what you and Oolag have been training for.
So get out there and show everyone that you are Bjørn to Dance!

A very classic mechanic was well adjusted to the theme.
So far I am in 3rd position.
Good job
A big problem with the game I think is that its way too easy. I think it would be more fun if you ramped up the difficulty curve and didn't start with just one note.
I really love the personality of this one. The concept is absurd, and I just love the name Pillage People Dance Troop.
I do wish that the music played more of a role in the gameplay, but that might just be my personal preference towards rhythm games, haha.
Despite the simple gameplay, I can tell that this was polished to a T. It feels super smooth and seamless, very nice job!
So far the best game I've played this LD. Funny, great execution, amazing sounds and music, and most importantly catchy gameplay.
I would maybe change one thing though. The shield idea is really, cool but its placement unfortunately takes aways the attention from dancing Bjorn, which is shame, because I loved looking at him. So I would maybe put the shield/runes somewhere either around the character or right underneath him so we can both watch the runes and the guy :)
But overall, amazing and pleasant experience. Thank you for this.
Feels polished enough in the timing of the game jam
Only complaint : I had to install english to play in wasd because my keys are in another order, the directionnal arrows would please me better
This is not a real complaint as you can see XD keep up the good work !
Great entry, had a lot of fun!
Really well polished - very nice tutorial.
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
Great work!
Thnks for sharing.
At first I was confused about what to do. I expected rhythm game and kept pressing buttons in tune.
Great work!
If there's anything to nitpick about it's that it would be a nice little addition to have the board light up when the pattern is presented to you, just to make sure the player doesn't mess up the timing.
All in all fantastic entry. Thank you for making Oolag Bjørn's dream a reality :3
I liked this game for what the gameplay offered, but would have liked to see more time spent on gameplay design rather than art and writing, since the gameplay is what everything must support imo.
A bit too simple on the gameplay part, but it works so good job :)
two thing I would ask for are different backgrounds and the speed to increase. Other then that very solid game.

Nice game. It has a casual vibe and a classic memory puzzle style. The design and visuals is really good. The audio is also a very good aspect of the game.
The Bad
----
It lacks an incentive for the player to keep going. The leader board definitely helps, however it does not add anything game play wise. Also I cannot say I feel it fits the theme of the jam really well (you do repeat the pattern some times and play the same loop however it does not feel like one).

Having said all of the above, I can say the game feels good to play and I like it.
Congrats on the game. Keep up the good work!
Still, very good game, and I got first on the leaderboard ^^

our team has learned a lot from this game jam and from the feedback from players like you. much appreciated :-)
+nice music
+good memory gameplay
-sound seemed a bit too loud compared to the music!
Great work!
Then this happened....lol

(Not trying to be mean; my game is pretty much a Yoshi's Island puzzle platformer, nothing new there lol)
Great presentation! Good artwork, funky music and sounds, fun/silly take on a classic game.
Up the rythm for example. It would affect difficulty so maybe think of instead of delivering the sequence with sounds upon being pressed maybe do something like Guitar Hero or Piano Tiles 2 and synch the button presses with the rythm of music that plays in the background. Different musics will give you different tempos changing difficulty for you. The further you complete a sequence the further you get into a song. Just and idea but could work :)
Whatever you do, do not get rid of the viking dancing, make it funny like the Rasputin with Vladimir Putin video. Go wild.
Even then great idea and well executed
But the concept of a viking being so obsessed with dancing is fun, and the art is really good.
Good job :)

The mechanic is simple, but there are so many things done right here!
The main thing I loved was that each sequence is characterised by sound, symbol, color, and position. This is really really good for memorisation.
Nice art with a lot of great details, good sound and music choices.
The game feels repetitive fast as it is very easy and the difficulty goes up quite slowly. I did not really understood the use of such a complicated score system too but I think that's just me!
Thanks for the game I had fun 💕
