Frankenstore by wyattis

made by wyattis for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

Selling clothes... with a twist! A new clothing store owner has spent all of his money purchasing floor space in a high traffic mall for his store... and now he doesn't have money to buy any inventory for the store! Can you help him find a way to be successful?

Automatic inventory payments are made every three minutes. These inventory shipments go into the backroom as "stock" and can only be moved to the "display" by your Franken-workers. Because you start with nothing, you must first create a worker to populate your front display before customers are able to buy your shirts. Make sure not to build a Franken-worker too early or you won't be able to make your inventory payment!

Make a Franken-worker by clicking the operating table in the back. You have to acquire the required resources before you'll be able to do this. You have to click on body parts to pick them up.

Notes: - Inventory payments increase by $100 with each purchase so be sure to keep enough money to make those payments. - The rate at which customers arrive depends on how many shirts are one display and how crowded the store is. Between 2/min and 20/min. - Workers have a fixed strength which affects the number of shirts they can move (between 1 and 3) - Customers have a variable amount of money on their person (between 10 and 60)

Hmm couldn't find how to buy shirts with the money.

I understand it's not finished, but could you list the implemented and missing features? It helps evaluating the game on what has been done.

It was hard to figure out why some variables increased when. I kept killing the customers but no body parts were added most of the time. Not sure what the workers do for me. Nice fit for the theme overall, lots of interesting things in this game!

A bit on the morbid side, but I like the gimmick. One thing that could smooth out the process of paying for inventory would be some sort of timer saying how long you had before your next payment was due.
