Had a good laugh on this one, the physics-based gameplay is simple but a lot of fun.

Best! Sounds! Ever!

I left so many eggs around the place, I'm glad they don't affect the traction of the car.

So much fun for a simple mechanic.
The simplistic graphics looked great, the colours weren't blinding, they worked well together.

Didn't make it all the way around because of that stupid bloody damn annoying bastard rock right at the end.
I would have been fine if it wasn't for that rock.

Great sound effects! Super fun and simple mechanic. That bridge closer to the end is REALLY tough to get over, so I never finished a lap.

Such a fun take on the theme with a great physics based game! The sound is hilarious and it is just the right amout of difficult! Great job!

Fantastic work! That was both hilarious and addicting. For a compo game, this was beyond any expectations I had.

Great take on the theme, I loved the audio and the laughs. This game is great fun, I hope you would consider making it a full game. Imagine this as a multiplayer... Instant hit :D

Very well done. Watched some of the development on Twitch, but had to work for the compo days :( That ramp tho

Very nice! Frustrating but addictive, like it should :) At first I was a bit annoyed by how much the engine sounded like a dog, but when I finally passed the finish line and got I suddenly appreciated it. ^^

Fun little game, a little basic. Seems like a standard unity asset built game but its fun enough for 30 seconds. Would expect the graphics to be better given the time.

Going off the edge - flat Earth confirmed. 10/10 would destroy millions of eggs again.

I like this game a lot. The 3D models are quite good and the sounds are super cute. It plays relatively smooth. A feedback if you drive over grass would be good. A visible "anti cheating mode".

I had to keep trying until I made a lap :)! Perhaps a minimum speed mechanic, or a maximum allowed lap-time would be a good addition? Just to make sure you can't just inch forward and adiabatically keep the egg at it's potential minimum :nerd: Really awesome submission overall :D!

Amazing game, really funny and way too addictive for a game jam game^^ I could really think of this game as a full release on steam with a 1 on 1 multiplayer or co op modes^^

First of all, let me start by mentioning that Tim is an online acquaintance, and I did lurk on his channel for a few minutes to see him developing this game. I happen to love driving games and also am a big fan of low-poly flat color textures. So the game immediately struck my interests. That, coupled with the egg basket mechanic made this driving game a little more interest, because just racing around a track is one thing, but keeping a fragile egg from falling off of the car is a whole other thing. I noticed you can't go backwards, so it's possible to find yourself in a situation where you are stuck and forced to restart the game. Also, I love how the eggs stay in the environment with each reset. It really added a little extra flare. Great entry in the game jam by a fantastic person and professional developer. Best to you!

This was so much fun! I spent way too much time getting a better time. Balancing the egg on top is actually a good way to demonstrate conserving momentum through turns too, and sort of naturally teaches you to take a good driving line. Fantastic stuff!

This has been my most exciting game jam entry to date. Thanks everyone for the feedback so far. I am planning to make a post jam version of the game to add a bit more polish, additional tracks and hazards to avoid.

The current WR lap-time is a 27.420, though the best I have managed is a 27.500 - that hill is indeed crazy hard and I have some plans to make it a little better in future version.

Funny game! I like the graphics and theme, it's cute. I would say that the mechanic of being very careful about every movement doesn't gel super well with a racing game. In my mind, racing games are about flow, which the egg mechanic conflicts with. Fantastic work!

Such a cute game. I would have liked the camera angle to be a bit lower, so I could see where I was going. I enjoy the idea of a cautious racing game, but the fun is taken away when it is difficult to anticipate what is ahead. I hope you look to polish and expand on this in the future!

Haha awesome, such a fun game, brilliant idea and just hard enough but possible enough to be super addictive. That ramp is the bane of my life. The sound effects were a nice touch haha why does a dog bark when you finish a lap? Also I love that the egg splats are persistent, that was another nice touch. The only thing I would say negatively is the camera made me feel a little dizzy, it might be better if it was a little lower and maybe lerped rotation, but great job.

Followed the development stream while I was working on my own entry. Fun to play the game afterwards. You really nailed the physics and the "feel" of the car (and behaviour of the egg). Simple but addictive gameplay. Keep it up!

This game is really fun but I just want to point out one issue. Just before going up the uphill part of the track, I hit the fence on the left by accident and the car got stuck. I tried moving it but it only turned onto the grass.

![car stuck.JPG](///raw/3bb/d2/z/32851.jpg)

Since there is no restart or replay button, I had to reload the game to play it again. I wanted to make sure this wasn't a one time glitch so I hit the fence again but intentionally this time and the car got stuck again. Maybe if there was a reverse gear, it might be possible to move away from the fence without getting stuck.

Also I noticed that the lap number did not change whenever I crossed the finish line.

However, I really did enjoy this game and I would love a mobile version of this so I could play it on my phone whenever.

Really fun game. I loved that the broken eggs remained on the track for you to see as you passed them later on. One thing I may suggest is adding some sort of consequence for driving off the track. Very well done!

I admire that you made a racing game during the jam, as it's hard to make a fun racing physics during such a short time. But you did it, it's fun to play and enjoyable. Nice work.

so I wanna say , gamepad is the way to go. The game feels so much better with a gamepad, but maybe that's just me. I like racing games playing with a gamepad versus keyboard.

I loved the sound effects they were funny and cute. and one really simple feature that made the game really cool was that your last checkpoint is represented by your broken egg so I could easily tell if I made it farther than last time. I thought this was such a great visual feedback for the player.

Over all I never got to 2 laps but it's mostly b/c I'm not patient

@sanjana There is a reset button, R on keyboard or B on a 360 controller, also bindable in unity settings thing; but I try seeing if I can do anything about the stuck bug. Reverse is something I will be adding in extended version; and that fence will be changed slightly.

If you didn't see the lap increase when you finished than you missed a required checkpoint, ie you cut the course. This is the penalty for going off track that @matt-lowe was requesting; cutting track = invalid lap. Though there is no great feedback for it; The checkpoints are displayed via the rocks on each side of the course, and you must go over the top of the hill (really hard, go super slow unless you are brave/risky).

This is such a cool little entry. Perfect example of what a jam game should be! It's quite a challenge but not one that's impossibly hard. The game feels balanced, but also frustrating at times because "I SWEAR I NEARLY DIDNT HIT THAT BUMP, YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME!?" Great concept and execution, good job :) PS. I just realised that this would be AWESOME with some friends in a local CO-OP setting. Have a few different cars like in rocket league and the ability to bump each other, this would be so great!

It's always fun to play a game that messes with physics. It was such a challenge and really made me think about my choice of movements. The first ramp was definitely the hardest part. That tripped me up several times. After exploring for a bit, I found all of your track pieces laying around the side of the map. It was an unusual mess and made everything seem a bit incomplete despite functionality. Great work!

This one's a really fun game! At first I was like "wait, what do you mean, 'good luck catching the egg?'" ...and then I hit the jump and was like "oh, now I get it". I especially like the failed-lap fried eggs on the track, even if they do show just how many times I misjudged that first corner! I would have liked some you-cut-a-corner feedback, but then and again it does stop people like me from knowing where you can cut corners and get away with it. A very good game!

mEGGnificent work! Love the SFX and persistence of broken eggs splattered around the course. I definitely played this longer than intended but it reminded me of Trackmania with a fast reset and trying to get that perfect run over and over again.
Managed to get a lap of 27.720 seconds with egg flying out of the basket while crossing the finish line :D

Such a cool concept. I did not expect the game to be this addicting. I really liked that the eggs that were dropped remined on the ground, that showed me how much time I've actually spent.

Great work!

Cool and super hard game! I managed a round eventually but MAN - so many opportunities to fail! I like that the splattered eggs remain, and the sound effects are lovely.

I can't understand how anyone can do a lap in <30 seconds - that's super impressive.

Cool stuff. How did you find using unity over turtlebrains?
🎤 TimBeaudet
12. May 2020 · 13:42 UTC
I found it surely easier/faster than creating the tech myself; and will certainly use Unity for future projects during the prototyping phase; however long term Turtle Brains is still the path for me, personally, and eventually will be better specifically for my games/creations.

So I just played it for some laps and I got a lap time of 60 seconds. O and this is in Unity, which is a bit different than usual.

Also I like the extra tracks that you get if you just drive straight ahead from the starting position.
