The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Omeys
Inspired by Conway's Game of Life and Tupac Shakur's poem of the same name as this game, "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" is a open ended puzzle game with multiple or no solutions (I cannot do the math to figure out whether the game has a solution or not). The game's mechanics are a testament to the impossible feat of a overcoming the harshest conditions without any instructions.
How to play (for now, may iterate for JAM): 1. You start with 5 rose seeds. You plant them and run the simulation. The simulation runs according to Conway's rules for the Game of Life. 2. Every time a cell is "alive", its "growth" count is incremented. When the growth count reaches 8, that cell blossoms into a flower. You get a seed for every flower that blooms. For every flower you bloom, one word from Tupac's poem is unlocked. 3. Win condition is to unlock the whole poem.
