In this game you try to survive by collecting data chips and destroying/avoiding the drones who are after your data. You play as the Data hunter which goes jumping around (and shooting) in the cyber net world.

(Edited) Hey there I am seeing a lot of great comments about the Art and Music, Those two I opted out of because they were assets I used and mixed together I had a busy work schedule during the time of the game jam and couldn't make my own assets. If people are interested give them a cool review on their Unity pages and try them out yourselves. I don't like getting credit for work I didn't do. The only shapes in this game that I made are the ones for the menu and pause menu and stuff.

  • Cyberpunk style art: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/2d/environments/warped-city-assets-pack-138128
  • Music: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/audio/music/free-cyberpunk-vol-1-music-pack-165610

Note: It was still a challenge to make everything and having to connect the animations to the input. And it took longer than I expected to code everything that is happening like the flying cars in the BG and other cool stuff you see. Then again please visit the unity page guys and show them the love I get here. Couldn't have made it more possible without them.

Very nice platformer, even if just one level. Mechanics were also easy to understand. (I noticed you opted out on audio and graphics voting categories, so the artwork was not done by you? I liked it very much, the cyberpunk retrofuturistic feel gave much to the mood.) Good job!

(btw: to receive more ratings it is necessary to rate games too and rise in the listings - it was hard to find your game in the zero ratings category)

The principle is very basic and not so original. It doesn't really match the theme but the overall is very neat. The graphics and the music are just ass-kicking but I find the sound fx a bit less powerful.

Loved it, felt nice and fast to control. Air control felt great. And the art was just fantastic.

First things first, the graphics/setting/art style of the game blew me away. I always love these kind of cyberpunk, neo-tokyo feeling games.

The first two things I noticed upon loading up the game were a) how awesome the background music was, and b) how responsive the gameplay felt (the audio and visual response when enemies get shot is really awesome). I thought the rain falling down onto all of the tiles was a really nice touch, too.

All in all, I think you definitely have a lot of potential with what you have here; everything feels complete, and if there were more levels or an underlying story to what was going on, I think you could safely call this a more-or-less complete game. :) Keep up the great work!

As you opted out of art categories i can tell about platformer mechanics - it's nice, movement is really cool. Jumping doesn't work clear for me. Game mood is such futuristic, I like it!

That is some crazy good art! Congrats! I see that you opt out of graphics, were they made before hands? The game if fine, but it looks more like an art demo than a jam entry to me :(

The music is great! Also made before hand? I would have loved the music to be louder than the sound effects, the jump sound effect was starting to get on my nerve at the end haha!

Overwall it is still a very nice entry, looking great, feeling great and working great, especially considering you were alone, congrats! :)

Nice classical platformer. Back music is nice, jump's sound and sound of destroy bots are disturbing. So it's good classical game. TY. Good luck!

I loved the graphics & sounds. These did perfectly match. I also noticed the love u did put into the background.

What i disliked is Jumping on the W Button. It took me a moment to get used to it.

Overall a nice, but very short game.

Art is really great. Platforming is alright but a bit floaty. got a bit confused by the ladders though, I guess you don't really need them but it seemed like you could climb them. Not sure how this fits the theme, but I had fun with it, as short as it was.

Very good looking game. I felt that in this kind of platformer the arrow keys work better than the WASD, but it was fine whatsoever. Cool platforming and shooting.

I liked the mood of the game, the sci fi aspect really felt good. It was confusing that there was ladders and yet you couldn't climb them. Also the drones feel like much of a threat, they were really easy to avoid. Please change the drone death sound, its really irritating on the ears. Well done! I got a time of 1:32, don't know hod good that is haha

Really awesome game, graphics look amazing! A bit short but that's to be expected with the time limit. Only feedback would be that it feels a bit strange how enemies stay on top of the player rather than circling around it or something.

Hey! There's a lot I like about this, including:
* It's a small file and it's nicely hosted on itch.io (seriously, thank you!)
* Your user interface is clean and super cool, and the tutorial/instructions clearly shown
* The rain sounds and music loop nicely - and do a great job complementing the excellent visual work that's at play here.

The character does a good job of moving through platforms; the gun fires exactly as you'd expect. There's nothing janky about the basic mechanics (which are often neglected in these jams). I like the control scheme. And the audio clips you've added do a great job of rewarding the player for surviving and grabbing those chips. That said, if you ever revisit this, I hope you'll make some changes to the jump mechanic: the camera movements when you jump are a bit extreme (even a tiny bit nauseating, in my case) and I didn't find it particularly easy to jump and shoot (which would've been really fun!).

This has a solid mood and EVERYTHING WORKS! I'd be pretty proud if I made this.

The art looks awesome, reminds me Gibson's cyberpunk style.

The graphics and retro feel was really cool. I could imagine this built out into a Metroid-style game or possibly a 'run and gun'. Too bad the theme didn't shine through... very nice work overall.

First thing that's striking is the looks, and I love the world you created! Add a few layers of parallax and it'll be top notch. Plus the controls are satisfying, and the enemies are fun to destroy. Wish there was more content! But I think a lot of time and love went into the art :)

- @abdul-zakkar Thank you for the feedback I shall keep the parralex in mind for the next time.
- @corc0 Great to see this kind of feedback thank you for noticing this it's hard to notice while developing such things and when it's 3 am at night. But i'll keep this in mind.
- @codeer I went for a simple enemy AI but your suggestion would've made more sense thanks for the feedback.
- @sadzanenyama thank you for the feedback the ladders were a broken features so In the end I took them out because I didn't have anytime left. And yes I don't get why the drones were so annying sounding.
- @fpgames thanks for the feedback I took some great time for the character movement.
- @elendow thank you for the feedback I shall keep this in mind for platformers like these to also add the arrow keys as movement option.
- @nerzal Thanks for the feedback the jump on the W was like a difficult choice for me too I had it on space than changed it because I needed something for shooting anyways, I see that W was not the best option here so thanks for the feedback.
- @toffanim the art/sound are not mine I mentioned them on the updated page I hope you will visit them and comment on how good they look I also quite liked them. putting them together that was my part in this game.
- @kittrangers Thank you for noticing the gameplay, could you also be a bit more specific on how the jumping did not feel right
- @renikor Thank you so much for the feedback.

@a-coltzz hi! Long jump doesn't feels under the fingers well - maybe i could be better it was a double jump instead. And second part is jump length - maybe when player in air horizontal movement should be not so wide. Game is beatiful and fun to play anyway

@kittrangers Thank you for the feedback I'll keep this in mind, I was working with some kind of double jump but some other things didn't work out so I changed it to long jump. But still good to hear your opinion

I can only comment on gameplay I guess since you opted out of graphics and audio since they weren't yours. I suppose the rest of the game is rather nice. Shooting drones felt nice and the character movement was great. Having only one level was a little sad though. A little more complexity in the mechanics would help the game a lot as well. Still, nice job none the less :)

This is a quite nice game, here’s what I liked, the game was very polished, even though you didn’t make the art, I still think it’s a skill to put pre-made art & animations together, and you did that very well! For example I love the background animations, the screen shake when you shoot, all these little details that you didn’t have to put but you put it in anyway, I admire that :D

My only I guess real piece of feedback would be that while the game is super polished, I feel as if the gameplay could be improved, for example with the aiming, I would have liked to see maybe being able to hold UP and aim UP, or something along those lines, a bit more then where you look that’s where you shoot.
Or with the levels, it would have been nice to explore more then one level [although I’m guessing you ran out of time, I can relate to that feeling :p]

Overall I do think that the game is super polished, from the character animations, to the shooting, to the UI [honestly the UI is awesome!] I do think in your next jam game you should take a bit more time to polish the gameplay , and when you do, you’ll have an awesome super polished game with polished gameplay!

P.S: I apologize if I was a bit too harsh, I’m really glad that you finished a gamejam game and I hope I do not discourage you from participating in future jams. I look forward to seeing your entry in Ludum Dare 47 !

@sinci1 Yeah I would've made the aim Up if I had the sprite for it I didn't have time to edit the sprite myself in photoshop but It would've been a cool addon. Glad that you liked it and thanks for the feedback.

@badpiggy Cool thanks for the feedback 1 level is not much But again time is important and having to work 2 out of the 3 days is really annoying. I spent quite some hours at night making everything as smooth as possible which forced me to make only 1 level.
