Though I would echo some of the concerns above with controls. I expected K and L to be the other way around - K should be anti clockwise, L clockwise.
Having to go back to the mouse every-time I reset is bothering too. Reset the level when SPACE pressed?
It would be cool to add more platforms so it becomes more and more difficult (or/and randomize the keys each time) and you should make the UI respond to the keyboard so its easier to retry :)
But really cool concept !
Level 4 got me... I tried propping the ball on the right against the first ledge and gradually moving over to grab it with the XC 15 minutes later im still on level 4 . . D:
The sound was a little loud, jarring, and dissonant. Just needs a little polish probably, something to keep in mind for next time.
The ending blurb got a chuckle out of me.
Oh, also, you need to change the name of the game in the unity build settings, right now its 'Pet Game' in the bottom bar.
That ending was great!
Overall, great game!
One bit of feedback is it would have been nice to be able to choose when the level starts (maybe on key press?) so you're not scrambling to find the right keys after clicking something.
I like the concept but I do find the tone of the game a bit deary. THe controls are smooth but you do have a limited amount of time to orient yourself with a level as it begins. A delay to the balls coming into "action" so to say would be great.
I did really like level 3 for it's (at least to me) pinball-esque design. Thanks for letting us play!
I'd second improving the UI a bit though, even though it's nothing too bad
Graphics are a bit too simple, music is good even if it resets frequently, and the theme interpretation is pretty ironic (poor dog!).
As feedback, I'd try not to have the music restart everytime. Also, I was using spacebar to restart the level since it's very comfortable. If I beat the level I'd like it to take me to the next one, not restart.
One recommendation though, I feel like the controls could be flipped to make them a bit more intuitive. L makes the platform tilt to the right whereas K makes it tilt left - if it were flipped, it would make a lot more sense.
Nonetheless, interesting puzzle game!
Great puzzles!
It's maybe better if it give players time to check the level.
kl flips the paddles opposite of how I would expect. People will expect k to be counterclick-wise and l to be clockwise. If you complete the level then press space it restarts the level, which is very annoying as it happened to me on every level, sometimes multiple times per level.
My very first time at a level always resulted in failture because I needed time to get my fingers on the proper keys after having clicked the mouse, and then the time needed to assess the level. I think it would be nice to have the ability to choose when the food dropped for the pupper.
The music restarting every menu / level / restart is a bit bothering. Not sure how this is done in Unity, but it'd be nice if the music was just continuously in the background. This usually makes a big difference in games where restarting / advancing levels is often.
I think to improve the game a countdown timer would be great to add on the pressure or even work as a score board.
