Have you ever wondered what it's like to participate in a Ludum Dare compo and create a game in under 48 hours? We all have. That's why we spent 72 hours creating ludum factorum, a Ludum Dare compo simulator.

This made me laugh :) also, damn, that's some nice looking art! The hands off approach works well, I think, you did a good job with making the mini games very clear and self explanatory.

Very meta - I like it. I'm a bit concerned about how hard I find the coding minigame...

Most innovative game I've been playing so far. Graphics are fitting to the sound and mood in general. Also kind of challenging, I liked it.

Love it! I guess that my typping skills are really better now 😄. Looks like the position in each category don't makes difference when you focus on another category (for example: when I play piano, fun gets bad). But I don't know if this is expected. Really nice job, guys!

Niiiice love it. This is the kind of loop we can all relate to.

The gameloop where a little to shoort, or maybe I am a little bit to bad. However, I got stuck doing one pussle and had a hard time to remeber to switch. So just like a real Compo in other words =)

Loved it, the theme and mechanisms worked well, the music really emphasised the time limits nicely

I was expecting something similar to Factory.io, don't know why, maybe because of title. BUT I'M NOT DISSAPOINTED AT ALL. Got nice amount of laughing, it also turns out that I can' type fast enough to make a perfect game. :/

Very good entry, it would be ironical if it would win, or at least take high place. I would like to see that, good luck and thanks for the game!

Thanks, @bukkaketears! According to Google translate, "ludum factorum" means "the game works?" in Latin. That's why we chose the name.

@rvenson If you are referring to the fact that focusing a specific minigame does not yield scores in other categories, you are absolutely correct, that is intentional.

Very innovatative entry and great idea for the theme! The only entry i was able to ever finish was just graphics hehe c:

Interesting little experience! Found the rhythm game a little glitchy (although it's possible I'm just bad at rhythm games), but I always like to see a typing minigame!

I already made a game why I have to do another one?! This is a great idea and even nicer execution! Great work!

@ree-rolph yeah the rhythm minigame sounds a bit buggy because if you had to match the rhythm exactly it would be way too challenging and frustrating to play, so it gives you a little bit more leeway and as a result sounds a bit off at times.

omg i just barely finished teh compo to fail here over and over again. Great job on the game very fun idea

06. Oct 2020 · 15:23 UTC
Very funny idea, but I found it way too hard... I couldn't even finish one game, so I had to miss out on all the jokes mentioned in the other comments :/

It's probably easier for people who can type while looking at the screen, I should learn that some day...

06. Oct 2020 · 15:25 UTC
@flauschzelle technically speaking, there really isn't a way to "finish" any of the minigames, you just keep doing them indefinitely to rack up points in the respective category (audio, fun and graphics)

This one is awesome!

The art is stunning, the concept is smart, the mechanics are very well implemented.
The ratings at the end, even after a few jams, are quite harsh, but well, I never actually tried compo, so maybe this is actually the case haha.

Thanks for the game 💕

Love the art design. Whoever did the sound design is super hot I can tell idk how but I can. I'm not a game developer but I know too well what anxiety feels like and this game captured it well. Cute easter eggs in the posters and lil ducky and anime girl.

This is fantastic! I don't know if it's just because it's 2am, but this was pretty challenging for me  I loved the music, the background art was especially fantastic, and the minigames were all great fun. Good job!

Ah ah ah, excellent. All the juice of a LD translated in a game. My hands are moist!
Anyway, maybe more time at the beginning (to avoid chain fails) could be nice, and instead of QWER for the music, maybe "1234" or "UIOP", so it would be common to all keyboard variations?
🎤 AMastryukov
07. Oct 2020 · 11:32 UTC
@dxk2294 the game truly is challenging and hectic to best convey the feeling of participating in a Ludum Dare compo.

@tipyx I was not even aware that there were other keyboard variations besides QWERTY. We will remember this when making our next game.

Develop this into a couch coop game so you can have a game jam team. Also make features more realistic and make the theme matter! Good game!

Fun little game, minigames could be more interesting but the polish on those is very good, hope you will turn it into something bigger in the future!

The music speeding up gave me that same sense of anxiety I get in the last few hours before the deadline! It felt really odd having to code to someone else's syntax style on the keyboard minigame, kept making mistakes because... well... so many spaces. ;)
Good fun.

Yes, yes, this is EXACTLY how it feels :‘D Especially loved the simulated coding because I was constantly searching on my keyboard for various brackets, symbolic for the search for the code that’ll „make it work“. Great meta entry, love it! Thank you for creating this!

also nice touch with „the theme does not matter“ :D

I consider my real life game dev skills to be best to worst Programming, Art, Music. But in your simulator it was the complete opposite :joy: I just couldn't write any code, but apparely my music good? This game really made me understand that I don't write code from left to right. I have a habit of first writing brackets, then hitting left to enter them and write whatever I need inside. That wasn't valid strategy in your game and threw me off so bad. Almost felt like my hands were replaced with my feet

Funny concept ! A bit hard, but still reflected nicely the last hours of a jam.
The code without autocompletion though, nearly impossible if it's not with my proper syntax :D too much spaces as someone already said

Very meta! :joy: This was a blast, basically described what I went through, only I submitted for the jam lol. Very well done overall, I don't have much to contribute here in terms of feedback, the game is simple in it's gameplay but deceptively challenging.
