psssh you think thats good?? check this score out!

No, but seriously, the central game mechanic is great, it fits the theme perfectly, and it's executed nicely. The presentation has a nice PICO-8 feel to it, too.
In my opinion there is a bit of a flaw in the design though that the closer you are to losing (aliens close to the earth) the harder it is to hitting them. Which quickly turns into a snowball xD
Overall I enjoyed it, thank you for the game!
Maybe add different types of enemies to spice things up, but already pretty cool as is!
Some powerups would be pretty cool, some way to protect the planet or something :D
Controls are a bit awkward, but I honestly can't think of a better button layout myself lol
Great game otherwise!
My only suggestion is some kind of visual feedback of how soon an enemy will move into lower orbit.
Perfect.
Thanks so much to everyone who's played so far!!
I also have to say this is the worst planetary defense system in the history of planetary defense systems, why can it ONLY shoot at earth?
When i try to attack enemy and it jumps, i get a granted miss.
I suggest some kind of prejump enemy animation to make enemies more predictable.
Thanks for the game!
I have a strong urge to create AI to play this game. Seems like something fun :)
Controls are a bit hard at first, but some with practice I have managed to get 300 points.
Cheers!
One thing I'd point out is that it's kinda unfair when the enemy changes orbit right before being hit... I think the suggestion someone else wrote here - some form of indication that it will change orbit soon - would help with this.
If Refined a little like adding levels and boosts, collectibles , etc it can become batter
Being able to angle your shots away from the earth (maybe with shots falling into an unstable orbit and still eventually hitting the earth?) would have added a lot more depth to the game, but at the cost of the elegant simplicity that makes this game shine... (and a lot more effort to implement!)
The art an sounds go really well together and match the simple (but deep) gameplay. Great job!
**Here is my feedback:**
**What I liked?**
- I liked the SFX.
- I liked the player feedback.
- I liked the visuals.
- I liked the mechanics and the gameplay of the game.
---
**What I disliked?**
- The game taking control of the spaceship's movements.
- The balance between the aliens quantity and the earth's health.
---
**Suggestions:**
- Ability to reload the game.
- Maybe change the َAtmosphere's colour to red gradually, as the earth's health get decreased.
- Maybe destroy the earth, if the earth's health bar is empty.
- Increase the earth's health.
***Edit:** I just noticed that I can change the direction of the spaceship.
very cool game
I like the retro design and sounds :)
Graphics and sound effects make it very evocative of old arcade games.
Definitely innovative, it adds something that classic orbital shooters don't have. It's the fact that every shot you miss is a setback. Leading to a weird awkward emotion of "oops, I really funked that one up...", which made me laugh out loud at my own failure several times.
Really difficult game, I could never successfully hit any enemies on the innermost ring. But I sure had fun trying :joy:
Good job!
All of it fit, the controls are simple to understand, the sounds fit the way it looks and yeah, I enjoyed this a lot!
Thanks for the entry!
