You have received a royal order to hire some soldiers for the upcoming war. Now, with the help of your little worker peasants you must build up an economy and prepare the kingdom for war and battle!

Controls

  • Mouse Left
    • Place & Destroy Buildings
    • Start & Stop Production in Building
    • Create & Destroy Paths
    • Inspect Tiles
  • Moue Right, Keyboard Backspace, Delete
    • Undo Path
    • Go Back
  • Keyboard ESC
    • Abort

Costs

  • Construction costs for each building are 2 Wood and 1 Stone.
  • Costs to hire a soldier in a Tower are 1 Meat, 1 Bread, 1 Water and 1 Fruit.

Generating Resources

  • Certain buildings require a neighboring tile of a specific type.
  • For example, a Woodcutter can only generate Wood if placed next to a forest.

Tips

  • A path can't be deleted if it is still connected on both ends, or if its worker is busy carrying.

  • If a building is generating too many resources, tell it to stop production to not overwhelm your little workers.

  • The little worker peasants are sometimes confused about where to deliver the goods to. Just wait a little, the goods shall eventually find their way to their destination.

Absolutely loved the music!

The game is also quite peaceful to play and although a bit finneky, it's a game I will keep playing in the next days for sure :)

I love the gameplay idea. I loved Settlers 2 and this has a nice vibe like that. I got stuck because I don't know where the Hunter should be? I assumed it would need Plains but that doesn't seem to work:

It took me a while to realise I could build extra roads by clicking on an existing building. And I don't know why buildings can't be built next to each other?

It's a really nice little system and game, the music is nice, the sfx are ok (a few too many beeps when the system is getting bigger).

Well done

Very ambitious, what a shame it lacks polish so heavily. But it is understandable you just didn't have the time in Compo. I would absolutely love to see a finished post compo version.

I have no idea what each building does, how much does it costs, I don't understand how roads work (my workers seem to carry random resources around mindlessly and eventually get stuck), I have no idea how should I build my roads to actually work. The controls are not very friendly. Right click should not open context menu. I don't know what I have selected. It lacks tutorial, and even the game description was not very helpful understanding the rules.

Nice basics, but there's a lot missing, mainly:
* no information about what's still missing for a building
* you can't end a path somewhere other than a flag. That's really annoying
* How do you produce swords?

Without more in game feedback, I wasn't able to continue playing (f.ex. didn't know if a building was stopped or not, because either I clicked once or twice, the worker still was going back and forth, ignoring the pending constructions). It would be useful to know wich building needs to be near wich tile (if needed), and I didn't understand how to remove another thing than the very last builded road, whatever the place I right-click in. And about that, it would be better to remove default right-click browser behavior, because I was annoyed each time by the pop-up menu.
Well, everything negative said, graphics are good, and I see a lot of potential in this concept, it was very ambitious for a week-end jam, the "dare" in Ludum Dare is fully exploited here. For the work you have done, and despite the negative points above, good job anyways, I'm not sure I would make something like this playable in so short time
