My biggest gripe was the difficulty progression. It seems that all the enemy planes stay localized around the centre of the screen until you reach a certain score threshold... and maybe that's wrong, but if it is then i'm not sure what the case really is. The problem with this is the way it makes your ability to grab the point a bit too random; if it's near the edges then you're good but if not you'd better hope for the best as you go in for a kamikaze. Again, not a big deal, but worth noting. (And if i'm wrong about this, maybe try to figure out why this seemed to be the case.)
Two more smaller issues : first, I think that the enemy planes should NOT kill you after they've started to fade away. Feel free to disagree. Lastly, I think the enemies should've started spawning after you collect the first point, just to smooth out the learning curve.
That's all, I really enjoyed this one, very nicely done.
At one point I was complete behind an enemy and wanted to fire rockets at it. So maybe weapons could be nice additions. Sometimes lots of airplanes orbited the cube and my chances to through them was pretty low.
But I enjoyed it, and with more features I would play it more
The aesthetics are pretty neat, good job for such a good, minimalistic style!
It actually fits Mobile
Also - how did you export the game in Gamemaker 2 so it doesn't have to install? I could only export as install.exe

The core gameplay concept is incredibly simple but it has surprising depth. The aesthetic also has a wonderful, elegant simplicity to it.
It seemed clear to me, but based on some of the other comments people are leaving, perhaps you could have done more to explain that the enemy planes all follow the same path the player takes. I suppose the intro clip just looks like the enemy is chasing the player, rather than retracing their steps. Maybe making the dotted trail longer would have helped?
Aside from time-consuming things like composing music, the only thing I can think of to improve the game would be to better hint to the player that the edges of the level loop around. If the intro animation was looped so that it showed the planes re-entering from the left as they exit from the right, that would have been perfect.
Great gameplay.
Great job!
you should make a zen mode. it was really pleasant flying around
Also, that explosion animation is really great!
There's a clear snake inspiration though I think it would be more fun if you expanded beyond it and added stages, powerups or multiplayer. A mobile port would also be something to look forward to.
Things you probably know already: it's a shame it doesn't have any BGM and theme-wise I can draw loops but I don't see the "stuck" part.
My highscore is 16.
edit: I just realized the enemy planes are clones!

The concept is interesting, there was a bug where the little chicklet looking waypoints you have to collect spawned so closely that I collected 2 in the same instant when I should only have got 1.
It's an interesting idea, very simple, minimalistic, but it needs some additional features, some polish, and a visible goal.
That said, continuing to develop the game after the compo has ended goes against what Ludum Dare is about. I get that you didn't know, but it's up to you to know and understand the rules.
But, even so, you can be proud here.
It feels smoothly polished!
Would've loved to have seen some kind of different levels or enemy types.
But this is done very well.
Very simple and competent game, reminds me of phone games like Snake but much smoother and cleaner, good job
Wish it has some simple sound to go along with the minimal art.
Well done.

It's very simple yet so fun! Some music would've fit the game nicely. It's very smooth to play. Super fun though I only managed to get 12 max. ;_;
Great entry, well done!
If there's is anything to add... maybe a grace period when enemy drones spawn I guess, since a few times I would pass by the spawn point and then get rammed immediately out of nowhere by a spawning drone. But other than that I cant think of anything else to critique really.
Overall, solid game, I can see why it's so high up now.

I left a one-star review and will ping @pov.
EDIT: I have been contacted by @samdemaine about this and he has promised to link to the original compo-version from now on, as well as incorporate a changelog for when he includes an HTML5 version, which his compo version didn't support. He also says he didn't intend to trade good votes, only play people's games if they played his in return. I'll leave you as the judge here.

very cool game
it gets too crazy in very less time
music will make it awesome (just a feedback lol)

The author, who although now promised to bring back the original version, had previously dismissed us multiple times. I leave it to your own judgement.
Even though stream crashed I still got some footage: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604559
Nicely done, well polished, visually pleasing, only downside is MIA is still stuck in my head.
Love that the design works thematically on multiple levels (the controls, the fact you can loop across the map, the clones are loops what you do). Love the way the difficulty ramps up. Love the aesthetics. Love it!
Super clean game. Great work!

Super clean visuals, a simple premise polished to a T, and just an overall solid package here. I have little to no complaints on this one, very very nice job!
The dead airplanes chasing me did make me think a lot about where I want to fly and how, so it even smells a bit like there's strategic depth to this game that I've yet to figure out. On top of that - the visuals are simple, clean and pretty. Awesome stuff, I had a lot of fun. Thank you for the game :)
That being said, I had to rate the original version. Sorry :/
