Once I figured out I could triple jump it made the game make more sense and I was able to meet the other characters (Though I did fall down again once I met the tea guy because during dialog gravity still kinda works haha). I like the tea guy.
Interesting concept.
- jump is waay too floaty
- the ground spawning mechanic seems to be infinite, but the game tells you otherwise apparently?
- the font resolution is awkward during dialogues
- you *almost* managed to make interesting characters, but the presentation is a bit lacking
- i can apparently spawn as many blocks as i please at the victory screen, which isn't really game breaking, but like, wut
i can see where you're getting at with all this and i have no problem at all with the quirky character art though. overall congrats for the compo entry, making a game in a short span of time is rough and i hope you manage to address these issues next time, especially if you're into making platformers.
thanks!
But if I really wanted to critique this, I'd say: The place you have to click to place blocks is weirdly specific, the characters you meet along the way don't really contribute anything, and sometimes when you start the slow mo when talking to someone, the character gets stuck in blocks or falls without you being able to control it.
I've become weirdly attached to this though, so maybe the best idea would be not to change anything.
I always love playing through your games. The ooze personality and take me back to mid-90's indie games, which was the wild west of video games delivered to you on shareware discs. Your LD entries are simply a nostalgia trip.
Loved it!
Thanks for submitting your game!
You do transition to the actual game though. Similar to others it took me a bit to figure things out but not too bad. Not too long before I found the triple jump. A bit more interesting than similar games due to the dialogue, it certainly fit the definition of stuck in a loop :)
