Radioactive Room: Synthetic Selection by Pietdagamer

[raw]
made by Pietdagamer for Ludum Dare 37 (COMPO)
Breed little circles to make them resemble the target as close as possible. Drag and drop them to make sure they breed with the right mates and inherit the correct traits. Turn the radiation slider up to 11 and bomb the circles with radiation and make them mutate. Watch out, they also mutate when breeding!
Made with C++ and SFML.

- Quiet impressive that you made all that in C++/SFML

Can't get it to run on Linux, even after installing libsfml, probably because aptitude is giving me v2.1.2 and you need v2.3? -- RadioactiveRoom_SyntheticSelection_Linux: error while loading shared libraries: libsfml-graphics.so.2.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Cool concept, very interesting. The gameplay is a bit difficult to understand, maybe with more visual clues the game could improve quite a bit. Very good work.

Neat idea but it seems quite slow to breed them. Is there a special mechanic for that? It's just a lot of work to keep them separate and hope they pop a new one soon.

I love the concept! It took me a while to figure out what i was doing but once I knew I really liked it. I couldn't work out why some circles would breed and others wouldn't though...

Very nice, also using C++ and SFML is a big plus on my side. The concept is indeed interesting.
I missed any kind of music and sounds. The gameplay is not easy, but quite complex ~ some kind of tutorial would be cool.

Interesting concept. Kinda hard to figure out how to breed reliably.
Graphics are simple but suitable. Pixel scaling on the circles being different from the background is a shame.
Really wanted Geiger counter crackling, shame there's no audio.
