Of Sound Mind by CJGladback
I deeply appreciate you being here but there is no game. Really. For too much information, read on.
The jam was a valuable learning experience as always and I'm rating games so you may be brought here by the karma system, but the game broke spectacularly during the submission hour without me really understanding how bad it was. As of a week after the jam I am positive I'm not going to have the energy and focus to fix it myself during the voting period, and the parts I was willing to submit were the new functions that also seem to have been what broke.
I like the concept I had for this story and how many ways it fit the theme (deepening piles of discarded instant photos where your camera flash is your only light source, infrasound increasing your confusion, a lake whose depth changes were part of the inciting incident), but it was poorly communicated in a story with pretty much just two (bad) endings accessible by jam end. I probably will stick with it as my test file to unravel the bugs, so whenever I do have any viewable version of that story I'll update it here. But it won't be anytime soon and this submission does not deserve your rating.
First week's description below:
You can't wait to see your friend Kasey. (Unfortunately, you'll have to. See note below.)

Note: ~~The build broke last minute; I should have updates within an hour to make it playable instead of spitting an error at you.~~
Edit as of 1.5hrs after submission hour: I now know the error stems from my editor suddenly failing to recognize audio clips when imported. The game no longer even functions from the Unity play window. So updating Unity is my next step to try and at this point I should sleep before I make any foolish errors. In the meantime, enjoy this collection of backgrounds because I can't even access taking a screenshot, now.
Since I did get the images and sounds working to an extent, I can't even say the Ink file would be a similar experience if you happened to already have downloaded Inky. But that has been updated through the link.
All played with a mouse, clicking buttons. My various approaches to a skip button failed, so if you just have a minute you might want to "Skip to the destination" from the start to avoid a long worldbuilding cutscene.
This was a solo project, all made by myself in 72 hours. I can't say I've never felt worse at Unity, because this piled on a lot of functionality I hadn't touched before, including autoplay sections and sound with volume controls (until mysterious Unity breakages). But it's rough for sure.
