Welcome to the Rim!
In 1997, a giant rock came from space and changed our world forever. Twenty-some-odd years later, a stranger arrives at the impact crater, looking for answers to questions they don't know how to ask...
The Rim pays homage to the Battletoads levels of our youths. The player will descend into the crater armed with only an arm cannon (Left Click to fire) and their trusty Tether. Keep an eye on your Tether's health, it can take damage from monsters! If the tether breaks, you will find yourself at the bottom of the pit sooner than you wish.
Meet the scavengers who make the crater their home, and well as the mutated creatures that haunt the darkness. Can you survive the depths and find the solace that you seek?

Gameplay
Don't Die: The denizens of the dark don't seem to appreciate your presence. Navigate the depths slowly and carefully. And when diplomacy fails, give 'em a taste of your arm cannon.
Controlled Descent: Thanks to your trust Tether, you can control your movement and rate of descent once you are over the Rim. Make sure to use this control to your advantage, and protect the Tether!
Scavenger's Camps: The Rim is home to many scavengers, some who will help you along your way. While resting in their camps, take advantage of the Scrap Crate to repair your armor or your trusty Tether.

Controls
During Descent: - WASD - Movement - Left click - Fire - ESC - Pause
In Camp: - Space - Continue dialogue - A/D - Left/right movement

I wish dying didn't restart the entire game though - I'm afraid I won't be able ot get to the ending like this
very cool atmosphere) And i like the graphic style
I liked the mysterious storyline and the difficulty (starting very easy at the beginning and ramping up quickly in the last level). Good variation in enemies and an interesting idea to protect your rope thingy.
It would be nice to see who is speaking, without reading his/her name (f.ex. display a color or an arrow). Mood was great!
I didn't see a remaining health bar, that would be a useful addition.
The in-level background is a bit too strongly pixelated, but I guess you already know that :)
Yeah, I really liked the idea of a meteorite crashing down leaving a crater to explore. I'm sure there are plenty of stories like that, but I guess I never came upon one^^
Was disapointed that it was over already after three levels, wanted to play more ;)
While I loved the cutscenes and dialolgs, the gameplay itself seemed very simplistic and the artstyle there did not really match the one in the cutscenes, at least for me. But I assume this is because of the short amount of time available to make it.
I think that with a little bit of extra work, you could have something really special there. :)
