the narrative of digging downward through different layers of hell/sin is super cute, and the level presentation reflects that very well. and the music is *incredible*, I would honestly just listen to that on my own.
overall a lovely game!
>the music is incredible
I went super proggie, there are a bunch of time signature switching in there .

LOVE the soundtrack, mechanics, art, and concept. You win the award for first game that I actually downloaded (I tend to really only play the ones that are HTML5 hosted) The gameplay GIF really captured my interest and it was so worth it!
Extremely polished and refined game. So impressive for 48h. 5/5

If you look closely, in the center of this image you can see the game :D
If it helps you can play it in full screen. Just press F4 or alt+ enter.
I could definitely see this being a speedrun game if pushed even further! Perfect execution in this regard~
The feel, the gameplay, the graphics, and even the themes for each level!! I wish I could play more of it if you push past this compo state and certainly impressive for a compo entry!
And the soundtrack is just rad!
Controls are perfect, music is great, design is brilliant, level design is FANTASTIC. I wish I could reach that level of design skill someday.
I also really enjoyed the retro music as well as the simple/elegant pixel art, everything feels super clean and polished. Also you get to become the ruler of hell in the end and isn't that just neat.
That's it, I don't have anything negative to say about this, you nailed it.

Honestly just a amazing game! Thank you.
> I like how there was a dollar sign that seems collectable in the greed level but maybe actually wasn’t?
LOL, that one is actually collectable and yes it's pretty much there just to bait greedy players because it's kinda tough to get and really not worth it.
Very nice game, a lot of fun!
Thanks guys for all the kind words! If you liked this game, consider checking out my current platformer project Zero Lives!
It started as a Ludum Dare entry as well for LD45. **Check it out and give it a wishlist!**

Thanks! I'm definitely considering it.
The 2 main abilities, charge and double jump are well used. I like how good everything feels. (Digging, which was WELL used in this jam's theme overall, is done in a way that totally innovates the idea into a double edge mechanic. You make progress, but you kill your safe space)
A story sneaks into the level design, which is very fun and well done. I especially liked the level that changed all the rules of the blocks and forced you to rethink what you've learned!
There's always something new to see (many different enemies, and each level has it's own look and feel), and stays interesting throughout. There are some tricky areas that can feel a little harsh, but it's ultimately my fault for dying in that same spot 5 times  The nature of falling downward did introduce some "leaps-of-faith", which may actually tie into the whole falling from heaven theme, but can still feel like it's cheating me out of a fair death.
Overall a very good game and entry! Great job!
PS. Music is also very good!
I think my only complaint is that the level design has quite a few blind falls / leap of faiths that make it hard to "sightread" a level. I think given the nature of the game, it's hard to avoid this in the level design; maybe something like a camera that accelerates downwards as you fall so the player stays in the top 1/4 of the screen could help.
@herman-chau
>leaps-of-faith
I get what you mean, it's a jam design oversight. I think it would be pretty easy to fix just by making some slight adjustments to the level design to make things more clear. Thanks for the feedback. I will get back to this game at some point I think!
Liked how the levels progressed in difficulty but do have to admit that I got stuck at the lust level and greed levels at the start. Took me a lot of lives to get passed those. Couldn't stop playing though and after quitting first time I went back and played it again all the way through and reached the ending which was a funny great surprise. Also second time through I was surprised at how easily I was able to get through the lust and greed levels that I'd struggled through earlier. Definitely shows how as you learn the mechanics you get a lot better at the game which is a great reflection on the level design you've created.
Loved the clean art also which allowed you to focus on the gameplay and movement which worked so well and reminded me of Zero Lives which I'm looking forward to also :)
