Cadence of Glob by LDJam user 82995
Cadence of Glob is a narrative rhythm game about deciphering mysterious signals from outer space.
Use WAD on the keyboard or face buttons on a gamepad to hit notes. The more notes you hit, the clearer the signal will come through. The narrative will unfold differently based on how well you decipher the signals!

Press mouse button or A/X on gamepad to talk to your fellow co-workers. Have fun and learn about SPACE!

Oh yeah, we have a ball that you can kick around.

And lots more! Unravel the secrets of the universe in...

10/10, looking forward to Glob birthday next year
The mix of 3D environments and 2D art style is sooooooo cool!
The characters’little expressions are super cute, and the way they walk is hilarious, hahaha.
The story is really warm and heartwarming.
And the funniest part is that at the end, you show the dev team using signal-like text!
i probably wish that the subtitles were easier to read, as I sometimes clicked to see the whole passage and then could accidentaly miss some parts :( i would also be happy to see my score or some combo info while okaying the rhythm parts.
much fun much aliens!!
btw do you have itch.io?
Editing: Also want to add the music slaps in this game. Fantastic job all around, loved this.
Also, I really enjoy rhythm games. Great work!
Maybe it's just me... but the dialogue might be too much?. I had to bail after a while. It's hard to read quickly with the animated effect. (As cool as it looks!).
The rhythm game was fun, but wish there was more juice there.
Also... I got derailed in the beginning and thought it was about the ball. I spent the first 5 min trying to get the ball in the device. :face_palm: It was crazy hard. lol. Impossible actually.
Loved the assets, the writing, the story, the ball, the humour, the sounds, the music, the sweetness and the alien design and nipples... congrats ! Very nice job.
I have bestowed upon Glob the greatest gift humanity could offer, and I shall bestow a similar gift unto you. The **Greatest Ball** award. Some might say this is lazy award design, but I know you're above that. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the award cannot be bounced. It's probably fragile.
Here's my recorded playthrough (to provide maximum feedback), but feel free to skip free to skip to 1:15, as the game took a while to load... and I recorded that too.

(6-7, lol)
Love the artstyle, the muted colors and the derpy characters plus well polished gameplay, great stuff!
I would absolutely pay for this! Amazing work on all fronts, congratulations! I really hope you keep doing games together (if you don't already do) and that I can actually buy your games in the future <3
As the others mentioned, the artstyle is great. The expressions of the characters were nicely implemented.
Just playing around with the ball was fun for me.
The game felt a little "slow" for me in between the signals. Having more things you can interact with (like the amazing ball) would have made the experience even better. Having a scoreboard visible during the game or at least during the signal part would also be good.
It is nice, that you have a score comparison to a developer at the end, so you can see how good you played the signal parts. Congrats for finishing this game. :)

Ball is life.
Nice job, good game :)
I like the idea with the ball, I needed to implement a similar mechanic in my game)
Amazing game, everything was perfect, art was amazing, same as sounds and conversations. Amazing job, one of the best games I've played.
I thought I was good at rhythm games, but it turns out I didn't even score a quarter as much as the developer. 😭
P.S. Now I'll think about what space smells like...
If I had to mention one complaint it would be the text animation which makes it impossible to read fast. I would have liked the animation to skip like you can skip the appearance of the text letter by letter.
The web build takes very long time to load on Firefox but is loading fast on Chrome.
beautiful style and an interesting mix of 2d and 3d.
there’s quite a bit of text, and the animation makes it a bit harder to read. everything else is really cool!
The game feels complete, with excellent music and visuals. I love when 2D and 3D elements are combined!
The way the dialogue system and the core mechanics work shows real craftsmanship.
good ball
I only got one signal. I don't know how to trigger more signals. I didn't get the ball into the basketball… uh, into the signal tube. I love my new hat.
If I had to point out one small downside, I never quite managed to get the ball into the bowl where the letters drop... but hey, at least I walked away with a stylish orange space hat, which feels perfectly suited for my duties in this spaceship! :red_circle: :alien:
Well done! :rocket:
Who knew that bouncing a ball would be such a fun minigame? Haha, I really enjoyed it.
And the decoding part was just fantastic! I would have loved a mode where I could retry only that part, to try and improve my score. The last signal was so much fun! Awesome music as well.
couldn't get the ball in the big bowl tho :(
