Signal

This is Signal, a puzzle game. You have only one task, find out the right answer. That's it.

Important Note

This game is not intended for hurried people. Even though the game can only last for a maximum of 10 mins, you must focus, otherwise... well, you will see.

Sound is essential!

Prepare a pen and paper, that will help you. You will have only one task during the game, but that will be enough ;)

The Story

You're Neo. You're sleeping right next to your terminal. The rest will be told and seen.

Extra Controls

  • F11 -> skip initial dialogue
  • ALT+F4 -> force exit

Used Tools

  • Engine: LibGDX / Java
  • Editor: IntelliJ Idea Community
  • OS: Fedora & Ubuntu (yes, I did a full reinstall in the middle of the jam...)
  • Sound: LMMS, Audacity, iPhone
  • Text to Speech: https://ttsmp3.com/
  • Graphics: Aseprite, Gimp

And an unhealthy amount of ifs and elses in an extremely mixed way. NOT PRODUCTION READY!

Special Credit

Huge thanks to my friend, vzsolt, who helped me correcting and forming the dialogues which made the game actually funny!

Help

You're not a loser, it's just simply hard. Open your help treasure one by one when you need some love from the game.

Good luck!

Very nice, I like the mood of the game. I didn't manage to complete the puzzle, even with the final cheat (I got alone to the decoded message of the signal) but I still enjoyed it. Well done ^^ It may be a little far from the theme though.

@rinkuji I updated the readme if you'd like to see the winning scene. It's epic, JUST sayin'.
I don't understand why it's far away from the theme. The signal repeats every 10 seconds. Isn't the theme "Every 10 seconds"?

@mudlee I stand corrected, I didn't notice the signal lasted 10 seconds ^^ And the ending is nice :p GG

Great mood. I really enjoyed the wit at the start while I was able to sit back and enjoy the dialogue auto playing. Very complex puzzle.

Unless you're targeting morse code proffesionals, it'd be better if the code was slower ;_;

I had big laugh when he said "Object is about to collide the earth" and then he said "shit" and that moment when the NEO said "then are you gonna help us?" and it said no even tho they said "okay" lets get started :laughing:

Love The Matrix references and the humor!! Very well done!

NOTE: I´m so stupid that Earth was destroyed while I was trying to figure out "that" code... :) Nice detail!

Interesting game. I like the idea, looks and implementation eventhough I couldn't end up with the solution even after looking at the hints and staring at the sound file in audacity :face_palm:

Nice idea. The puzzle was hard as my morse code is absolutely rusty. Really nice C64 vibe. Loved the soundeffects of the typing. The ending (with your hints) was EPIC!
