 IN A NUTSHELL :chestnut: - Pick up eggs and put them into the tube

  • Bounce the hatchlings while avoiding the sawblades

  • Try to get the little guys into the creepy mouth

This was a 48h COMPO-entry, so naturally no 3rd-party assets were used.

I didn't prepare a basecode and started from scratch.

Graphics were hand-drawn on paper with a marker pen and colored digitally.

Tools used: Lubuntu 20.04.5 LTS, Clickteam Fusion 2.5 (using WINE), GIMP, Skanlite, sfxr

I really liked the graphic style - it's very original! It's great that you can play on your phone.
It took some time to figure out what was what, maybe a short tutorial would not hurt, but it still plays great!

The style is great but a little tutorial would be nice. I haven't figured out what to do.

I played this for you on [stream](https://www.twitch.tv/timbeaudet) and I think I gave good feedback there, if so give a heart, and if not, don't!!

Thank you for trying the game! :spider:

Due to my poor time management during COMPO, a tutorial and instruction-beacons were omitted among other things, such as music!

I've added basic instructions on the game page above. Hope it helps!

Wow, you beat it!

I didn't have time to write any lore during COMPO, but I've added *two whole paragraphs* on the game-page.

Consider it canon. :scroll:

Interesting game! I couldn't really figure out what we were supposed to do, the best I could figure was so pick the eggs up when the pad bumps downwards every 10 seconds and put the eggs in the tube. I tried bumping the running men up towards the upper tube but it was quite hard to do so. I admire using hand drawn graphics! Great job!

This is really cool! Really unique! Graphics make me very uncomfortable :)) Solid work!

The graphics create a very unsettling mood which is not a bad thing, as for gameplay, it was a bit difficult to figure out as the bouncing of the pad didn't happen at the start on the 10 second mark. But when that clicked, it did end up a lot clearer! Could do with a tiny controls section in the game itself

Really stand-out art style. The challenge part of this game first coming from figuring out how to control the machine. There should be some clear countdown gauge for the machine. Other than that, a really unique game that is worth a try.

@dis0rder Interesting entry! The concept is definitely different as well as the hand-drawn art assets. I've always wanted to try that! As others have said, it was slightly confusing at first as far as what to do, but once I figured out that the action happens automatically at the end of the 10-second timer, it made much more sense. I like that you had two difficulty modes too -- that was a nice touch. Nice work!

I really enjoyed the strange aesthetic and the hand drawn assets a lot. I wanted to like the game, but only being able to bounce the hatchlings up every ten seconds just made it feel very slow and drawn out. I think the core concept is good but the ten second timer takes a lot away from it.
