Planetary Asteroid Defense System by LDJam user 301165

"NASA's not the only one smashing multi-billion dollar satellites into asteroids to defend the earth."

Play as the Planetary Asteroid Defense System (PADS for short) and protect the planet we call home. Knock asteroids off course by ramming your multi-billion dollar self into them. And then do it again and again because you're surprisingly sturdy. If you fail, know that the entire earth will be obliterated. No pressure.

A new asteroid approaches every 10 seconds, but the acceleration and mass of each is greater than the last. How long can you protect the earth?

really great! I'd like it to go a bit faster, and maybe more asteroids from the beginning, but really really nice game!

Pretty fun concept I thought it was pretty cool. Could be an old arcade game.

Quite a good game, but maybe it could be a bit harder?
Overall still good game.

You made a pretty good game! It was fun. To me it was a bit challenging with how slow the satellite is.

Awesome! Very cool theme.

A small suggestion would be to allow the PADS to track your mouse automatically, without having to hold the mouse down. As a touchpad user () it was a little more challenging.

I got to 418 seconds. The challenge definitely ramps up! It might work better to start at a higher difficulty, though: before a certain point, it's easy to toss the asteroids away well before the next one spawns.

At the end, I tried to redirect them instead of just shoving them back out into space, but that didn't work too well. Maybe giving a bonus to the impact force for side-hits would help to encourage that!

pretty cool concept! If it were me, I'd make the game get harder much faster since the first 3 minutes is really easy then the difficulty gets much harder.

Very cool concept! I agree with a few others, I think making the difficulty ramp up sooner would be good. Although, I do feel pretty good that I made it to 500 seconds. Those asteroids got huge!

Really liked it :) At first I thought it will be monotonous but then the asteroids started to grow in size :D

That was fun I got to 189 before I died, and didn't really want to continue mostly because my wrist was feeling the strain of holding down the mouse button for too long. I wish it had a toggle hold instead.

Love how simple the control scheme is, had a good time playing!
