Nice! you have some cool ideas especially around having 4 characters and one being able to revive the others. That's a very cool idea. Quite challenging as well trying to avoid the laser. The characters feel quite different as well which is nice.

Nice, on my pc the laser didn't show, just a gray waterfall but it's okay. I liked how you can jump right to the end with the speed guy in the last level :p

Cool idea. Nice animations too. There's a nice variety of characters and levels here. The characters really do feel different, and I like that the levels are designed for their strengths, even though I don't think there's a level that can only be beaten by only one of the characters. Condor is definitely my favourite. The triple jump is fun. I think the rules of the lazer need to be more clear. It took me a while to recognize that I avoid the lazer by not moving. Also, I appreciate the level selection.

Nice idea, This feels like the start of an interesting game.
The laser has no texture, and it seems weird that you can avoid it by standing still in the middle of it rather than hiding in the various hidey spots in some of the levels. It took me until level 3 to figure that out.
The different abilities were well done, and the characters felt very distinct. It would have been nice to have a way to switch between them without getting them killed.

Your link is tagged as 'Source Code' when it should be 'Windows'. You should probably change that. I initially thought you hadn't upload a build until I saw it was an itch.io link.

Well this is definitely an interesting twits ton the every 10 seconds concept. Though a little annoying gameplay wise in the execution.

Since there's not much you can do to stop the laser you're mostly just hoping you reach a checkpoint. Which comboed with the fact that the checkpoints seems to change their height as well as their mesh makes it a little difficulty to know when you're reaching one.

It seems like there's an interesting basis for a puzzle game, but the checkpoint spread and the limited response to death combined with limited lives leads to a lot of fails due to not knowing what was coming up. Especially comboed with the fact that the timer seems to tick during the selection screen.

As well as the fact that you can spend every single coin immediately which can sorta leave you screwed for the rest of the level. That was definitely something that almost got me a couple times. So some sort of limitation or a way to play/see the level without spending a coin would be nice.

That along with some sort of counter to the laser. It seems as though maybe you're supposed to be able to hide from it under some of the roofs but that never worked for me. Even though I was seeing seen etc. pop up top left. If that was an intended feature then that could be interesting, making you have to time cover etc.. Though in the current state I'm not sure if it is and if it isn't, it would probably be nice. As well as well as possibly something else to do, maybe a way to delay the timer overall.

Overall though an interesting game that needs a bit of polish, or maybe a decent amount to make it a little less annoying at times. But a cool concept that I would be interested to see expanded with more uses for powers or more multi-use powers.

@eroaxe thank you for playing!
i agree with your assessment aswell. i kind of bit off more than i could chew with the idea and it basically resulted in me skipping the polish just to get the game to "kind of" function properly. Im glad you enjoyed the overall concept and idea!

Neat idea! Just a couple notes: the distributable is over 600MB which seems excessive. Also, you need to tag the game as a windows download in Itch for it to be downloadable with the Itch app.

Thanks for the game!

(in a rush to test many, don’t mind the cursory style)

1. on game pages and title screen: I know this is not serious for a game jam, but still, misspellings to take care of if you continue developing the game ;)
2. small buttons to the left of "Level X": clickable, yet do nothing? (later: oh, checkboxes! But they should not react to the mouse)
3. controls are QWERTY-only instead of layout-independent (I have an AZERTY keyboard), BUT arrow keys are enabled (later: hard for me to use arrows + Left Shift + mouse!)
4. died when respawning! :o Lack of laser resetting?
5. I thought we were safe inside the building, but we are not! Not obvious
6. the triple jumping special ability uses Space rather than Shift; although this is intuitive, but the explanations said Shift for all special abilities
7. hearing the laser sound even in character selection: I definitely think the laser still works instead of being reset!
8. what are the turning beige things we collect? Checkpoints??
9. in level 2: respawn to an isolated yellow warehouse!! Can only progress with triple jump?
10. the laser feels superpowered, maybe too large and focused too close to the heroes!! :o I keep dying! Except for the first shot, which seems non-lethal for a few seconds
11. weird, the end of level 2 was actually at the end of the line! So, why bother take the sideway checkpoint??
12. level 3: new music, nice
13. often buying fast guy, to escape the deadly laser
14. reached high in level 3 but could not make it… now level 4
15. level 4: don’t get how to proceed after the void! :o Even triple jump is not enough
16. skipping to level 5
17. had to take some moments to find I had to go down! indications about where to go would help
18. camera keeps on turning down, makes my life so hard!!
19. "cheated": fell down to blue platforms! X)
20. beat level 5, using only fast guy!

**Takeaway:** main mechanic too punishing, and levels need to help knowing where to go. On the bright side, big "sky-y" levels that I wanted to explore (but only fast guy could survive!).

PS: OH NO, I cannot vote?! <:o It is less than the deadline by a few minutes! Sorry… This would not have granted you the 20 threshold anyway, but still. :/

PPS: now that I have more time: I agree with EroAxe, especially that the concept could get somewhere; in particular, you would need very specific level design so that each power is needed at some point (not necessarily in each level, but globally at least). Making everything more understandable and playable will go a long way to help see how the concept plays out! :)
