BEATZ is a rhythm musical top-down game where you need to GROW your cell by shooting sound waves on the music-beat to destroy enemy cells.

- INCREASE your growth rate, sound strength and credits with consecutive hits.

I like the game, but there are too many things that disrupt, make it feel not so good.
p.s. I have no idea how you grow, is it random or what?

@cimbaman Thanks for the great hints! I'm trying to improve it. With the short time I had, I was focusing only on the problem @doitle mentioned: the beat timing. I'll update you when I fix it after LD.

Great use of theme!
Other than that, the game was fun.
Maybe I'm weird but the text for the menu was near unreadable (only through squinting and guess work was I able to get to work).

The music is really cool too but you already said that you used free music.
I didn't see any penalty for spamming my wave blast though. Not all games need a penalty for hitting on the off beat but I think this one could have.
As people already said, maybe in the future would be cool if the game have a penality for miss the beats, maybe in the score, or some "accuracy" percentage bonus.
Was a little difficult to get the rhythm going, but super well presented!
