Cute Little Spider by BukkakeTears

On a day like any other, the poor carpenter was sitting in his workshop for killing some time. Pleasing himself for the day by humming a simple song under his breath, suddenly a cute little spider descended right in front of his face on a spider thread.
— Hello, carpenter! - cheerfully chattered the spider.
— Hello... cute little spider? - replied the surprised carpenter.
— Do you maybe ... have a cute little hammer? - asked the spider clearly intimidated.
— Oh cute little spider, as you can see, I'm just a poor carpenter. I don't have many tools. - said the concerned carpenter with a hint of bitterness at not being able to help.
— Oh, then... byyeeeeeeee! - shouted the spider and, pulling himself up the rope, disappeared somewhere in the depths of the ceiling.
And that's where the adventure begins! But wait, wait... you're already old, you need to work, and your memory is not the same. You often forget how to do even the easiest projects. Sometimes you feel like they fall out of your head every ten seconds....

Game features: - unbalanced mechanics - lowbrow humor - debatable decisions in game design - cute little spider - cute little hammer - old prick carpenter - shop with useless upgrades - software developer who has been up all night

fun game tho!
It was very difficult for someone like me with a bad memory, but it was very fun, nonetheless.
Great work :8ball:
Thanks and take care!
This is this part from features:
**debatable decisions in game design**
I thought that animation and carpenter saying that he keeps forgetting recipes like every 10 seconds... There is also a shuffle sound for that. But you never know!
Valuable suggestion for future jams to make sure that everything is obvious.
Unfortunately, I don't have time to answer everyone.
@osh-studio About items swapping instantly, it is a problem with Unity layouts. By default there is no option to do smooth movement between cells out of the box. I know how to add nice animation there, but unfortunately, I had no time to develop it and test it during this compo. :worried:
@frib It is not a bug, it is feature! Jk, it is obviously not intended, but I won't remove it. Such bugs add charm and show that actually the whole thing was done in a really short time
@matt-green I have trouble sleeping and drank a lot of energizers
Thanks again everyone, take care guys!
Graphics fit nice, audio is sweet, game idea is amazing, it all works well together, no bugs - really good job!
(just on note : i took me a bit too long to see the "curent" text, before i was only pressing arroys without knowing it was the recipe of specific tools)
such a hard game!but I like it!!!(rate back plz!)
chek out my game jam
The art-style is consistent and the animations give a very nice feel of feedback to the controls.
I think I might be getting old myself because I had hard time memorizing even the shorter sequences...
But at least I acquired the weakest(?) hammer! :hammer:
I don't like reading a lot of text so my suggestion would be to make the arrow keys stand out and let the player do that. Ok it might not be that challenging, but it would me it easier to play.
Also mixing input devices (mouse/keyboard) isn't very good for the experience.
I do like the graphics and mood very much. Job well done!
