Absolutely incredible, took me a while to figure out the perspective and how to build effectively, but was fun the entire time I was learning it. 5/5 across the board.

There is something soothing about balancing a sandwich, and the ant character arts are very charming! Well done!

That WATER!! My eyes are still sparkling, great job! I thought the mechanics of this game were fresh and inventive, and I really had a good time rapidly spamming left click to try and balance my sandwich before it capsized. What a clever game, great job!

Wow amazing work! Really super polished game. The mechanic is great and a real challenge to keep the sandwich balanced.

Bonus points for the epic cut-scenes and the creative mode.

Would definitely be something that could be released as a full game , with more food types perhaps ( and locations  like on a train / boat with extra inertial forces ) Top marks!

Haha, great entry! Top notch mood and creativity. And it's amazing how hundreds of ants can be in a WebGL game here, did you use DOTS?

For some reason it didn't run on Firefox, but works in Chrome.

Keep up the good work!

@gord10ahmet no DOTS at all. it's just they get batched properly and reduce the draw calls

Hey, this is really quite good, genuinely impressive, and you can clearly see the inspiration from Katamari, with that whole bizarre storyline featuring insects and tiny creatures. It's very amusing.
The art is simply delightful, and the game, with its chaotic and frenetic nature, is really fun.
It's akin to a 3D Tetris with a Katamari mechanics and vibes.

Moreover, the characters, their sounds, and the comic book style of the cutscenes are quite enjoyable.

Great entry! I love the idea, and it was very funnily done including the impressive intro - really puts you into this "world" :D

I felt it's just so relying on them spawning towards the camera, since that's the fastest way to grow the lines, and that made it extremely hard to really draw a line sideways/upwards for example, which I originally thought it would be about. Not sure how that could've been accomplished tho

Production quality and polish are superb, fellas. This is a great example of taking a super simple concept as far as game mechanics and presenting it in an incredibly stylized, fun, and polished way. Love the vibe and absolutely nailed the execution. And that intro tho! :nail_care: :ok_hand:

Woooah, that's really impressive! And incredibly polished. Also, I could listen to the music all day.

For some reason the opening cutscene wouldn't play in the web build (I'm using Firefox btw). It just looks like this:

![2024-10-0900-22-06-ezgif.com-crop.gif](///raw/bee/f3/z/681ab.gif)

The rest of the game works though.

I also downloaded it afterwards bc I was really curious what the cutscene would actually be like. It did not disappoint!

@sockenpuppe thanks for going the extra mile and downloading the game to watch the intro. we are very proud of it.

I guess the only thing I can complain about is that you all keep making it more and more difficult for me to find something to criticize 😅

I'm only saddened by the fact that I keep getting worse at this game (I got to 11th place; then I tried going for the 10th and instead got bumped down to 12th, and from that I proceeded to never get to 4k again)

This game is an absolute joy! The intro is top-tier—seriously, it's like watching a mini-movie. The concept of stacking ants to build a towering sandwich is so unique, and the physics-based gameplay keeps you on your toes. I loved experimenting with different strategies to balance the sandwich while keeping it stable. Amazing work all around, and the polish on this entry is incredible!

As always the keyboard cowboys entry is a delight. A unique twist on the theme and a novel mechanic combined with strong visuals. As we said in the stream, a little more camera control would have really allowed the creation of more elaborate ant-based art.

Finally a game that fits the theme with a fun and original idea! It's suepr hard but everything is so polished I'm amazed you could do this in such a short time ! even the photograph at the end and the leaderboard ... just waw. Just a small remark (maybe the only thing negative I have to say and it's not even about the game) when you make updates and fixes it should be written what those were about on your game description (I'm really confident it wasnt much since early comments are also talking about a super polished game but it's just a matter of transparency).
Oh and also, amazing intro, I laughed hard at this, well played all !!

Funnily, it didn't want to run on my Firefox (was just stuck on a blue and then black screen). Run fine on Chrome. So, you made me fire up Chrome... for shame :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Simple, fun and diverting  Intro is superb, I applaud the comic book style. There's really no negative that I can see. Seems super-polished and is definitely enjoyable. Well done!

Hi @tyrannas thank you for the kind words!

For what it's worth, we have not worked on or updated the build of the game ever since we originally uploaded it on submission day. Hope that clears up any confusion!
Tyrannas
13. Oct 2024 · 16:33 UTC
@coleslaughter I'm just saying this cause on itch it says that you have updated it two days ago :)
🎤 ColeSlaughter
13. Oct 2024 · 16:43 UTC
@tyrannas Ooohhh, I see! Perhaps we can make that more clear with an Itch devlog in the future. It's generally pretty common for us to update the information/assets on the game page after submission to make it look "more enticing."

But rest assured, when it comes to updating the game itself, we at the very least make sure that the original submission is always available (both downloadable and by default on WebGL) and we make it very clear when a build is a post-jam version.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

First game it's a bit weird, but then when you understand it's quite fun. I found it a bit _too_ random for me and it doesn't feel like bugs has much effect. I think I'd played more if it was less random, or that each game last longer by having fruits more lightweight and/or bugs more. Also it feels like spamming bugs is too easy to get points. So what I would like to try is reward more fruits: fruits lighter & more points each.
The reste is very good tho, music, art, all fits together pretty well.

Nice entry!

Extremely well done game! It was very hectic to swing the camera around and summon a phalanx of ants to tilt the food in the opposite direction of weighty chocolate bar, held by the antenna of a singular ant. Intro cutscene is very funny and well done, compliments the game perfectly! You guys did a fantastic job and you should be very proud for what you all have made :medal:

Wow - an incredible little game that is super cute and really charming. It's really fun to build up the 'limbs' of your sandwich and use it to both balance but also grab new things, making the balance out of wack. The push and pull of that mini-game is really fun, and creates a lot of tension and fun moments.

Great opening cutscene as well, but the guy with the sammich... he's okay right? He's just about to wake up, right?

Right?!

Well, either way, great entry!

me when i'm an ant and the sammich i'm on starts to tip over: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gJMN8IR9fg

audio jokes aside, absolutely excellent game! I cannot for the life of me figure out how people are getting to 7k, but playing the downloaded version so I can spawn in more than 1500 ants without lag certainly helps lol. It was a real jumpscare when I accidentally held down the mouse button in one spot for a long time and those ants really came flying right at the camera.

For real though, absolutely a blast to play. I cannot stop trying to get a higher score. Feels like a well-polished minigame stolen right out of some kind of ps1/ps2/gamecube-era Scooby-Doo game.

Also, fantastic lil ant booty for the bug counter. He's just a lil feasting guy!
