You have managed to pack so many nice mechanics with the idea of letting tiny creature behind
What's the point of the Ram ? I don't get it.
I have some glitches while selecting who to let go when starving making it difficult to see the energy value.
I feel that you can't really do anything against getting damage every enemy, as you need several dice roll to defeat it and there is nothing (bare one creature) to play defense.
Overall an extraordinary entry, I felt engaged directly, lost the first game and played a second round. Sadly to short.
Having other mechanisms like reroll and hand size could be nice if you wanted to add stuff in the future (I think I am thinking balatro Mixed with yatzee)
dicey dungeons, cult of the lamb, slay the spire. this is such a great fusion of all of these games. the vibes are haunting, the gameplay is satisfying and interesting.
no notes. this is the best game I've played so far
I don't even think if I have any criticism, but maybe I wouldnt give animals types like "Common" or "Uncommon" because this makes you kind of prioritize without thinking and just blindly picking the highest option. But that's just a little game design thing. Overall really cool concept and most importantly - FUN!
Visuals looks neat, only thing I wish for is some small idle animations for the animals and bosses, but I guess it would be too time consuming to add.
Will love to see and play post-jam version of the game!
Reminded me a bit of Super Auto Pets, while still innovating on the idea and vibe.
Really good job on this entry! I’m defo gonna keep my eyes peeled for more!
I gave it a 4/5 for audio because of the cute little "meep" sound effects and the ambient night sounds didn't escape me either. I just feel like maybe something droning or eerie cymbal crashes would really bring it to a perfect score. Maybe some suspenseful violins?
I only gave it a 2.5 for innovation. It could just be me, but I feel like there have been a lot of games like this coming out lately. I'm not complaining, I still really enjoy them, but I don't feel like this one really did anything to set itself apart. Kinda feels like Die In The Dungeon meets Inscryption.
It just needs some polish and it's good to go!

and holy shit, in 48 hours? howwwww
:( Try pressing ESC and disable post processing.
My collector and strategist neurons are activated from the start, the dices are so cute!
I love it man this is awesone @xk-the-name
I did find that the dice numbers would change depending on where you added a second or third dice, not sure if this was intended or not (and if it was could've been explained a tad better) but overall this was great, and amazing.
Really fun to play and really addictive!
Nice Job 👍
What a twisted idea to have to leave behind your friends :((((((
Incredible game with a lot of polish, loved it.
Love the graphics, background noises were good, and game play was solid once I figured out what I was doin.
----
ok disabling post processing works and now the world is rendered but this setting is reseted in every new screen and I must disable it again.
Отличный арт и очень крутые механики для кубов)
Gameplay is quite fun - different powers lead to discovering different types of usecases!
Mood is excellent as well - good UX and vibes. Well done!
Your game is something else - I just can't wrap my head around how you managed to make such a fucking amazing game in just 48 hours. And how you balanced it all, mad respect. The game really hooks you, considering I generally can't stand deckbuilders. But here I quickly got the hang of it and had a blast playing. The feature with different slots on the enemy that you need to cover is brilliant, makes you think about how to close them all, and that's where the animal abilities really come in handy. I hope you win this jam, you deserve it.
I think this game has a shot at success on Steam. I'll gladly buy it when it comes out!
A lot of people are praising this game, so I don't need to add more. ;)
One suggestion if you should continue with the game development. It would fit your "cube-theme" well, if the snail enemy would have a cubric snail house, where you put the dice in.

gonna play this for dayyyys to come
Congrats on an impressive job, more so for a compo entry. Do you plan to improve it / expand it?
You're the clear winner. It's a 5/5 in all categories from me. I wanted more. I'd buy this. Please make this into a real game on steam.

I could see myself playing for a looong time a full version of it. Great job.
That's grim! Didn't figure out what to do first time, I mean, that you need to actually drop dices onto the enemy. Also the hedgehog description doesn't state that it needs to remain on field to actually block damage.
But as always, fantastic!
Well done! This game is amazing , I want more !!!!!!!!
Excellent job, game is super fun, polished, it's clear what's expected. Very impressive work!

There's so many mechanics squeezed into a compo game, and so artfully done... I love the cute little dice animals, and how you were able to theme their abilities, as well as the general conceit and feel of recruiting the creatures.
The gameplay is a great take on a Slay the Spire/Dicey Dungeons/Balatro-type thing, and felt very comfortable to get into as a fan of the genre. There's some extremely smart and economical game design here- for instance, the idea of giving the dice their own "energy values" when letting in/out of the pack is great and really make recruiting/dismissing feel dynamic and smart throughout the game.
And, lots of great artistic choices and little effects to make the game feel polished and well put together, too. Great work!! I would definitely play a sequel/spiritual successor to this someday.
Suggestions:
- I would love to see a progress indicator, even as simple as: encounter X of Y
- The dice should fill up from the front and stay there, cause you can't change their order (it seems)
Also really appreciated the onboarding stuff, teaching the mechanics of the game. I only got confused a bit because I thought it was possible to place in any position of the line, maybe a strong indication that it behaves like a queue would clarify it, something like a placeholder at the end.
Again, loved it!
This is the type of game I would love to see turned into a full-length paid release! Great job!!
The core mechanics are really strong and come out really well, the art style is great, sounds effect fit perfectly, and you also managed to add quite a bit of content (a lot of different types of creatures). So far, best game I tried.
It felt like hedgehog was the optimal strategy and I chose it whenever it showed up, being able to stall a turn is strong!
I never quite understood what wolf did, but I still wanted my sheep to become him anyways.
As in the real world the final boss is man...
This was a complete package. Love the dice designs!
My only complain would be that the screen moving along with your mouse is a little too much. Needs to be tuned down just a tad. Otherwise really amazing.
As other said, I could totally see this expended to a full game on steam. Best compo game for sure, and one of the best game from this jam in general. Bravo!
You are a machine.

Great work!
What im trying to say is, to me, as a solo dev, this is like. Huge inspiration. Cause if that awesome game was made in 2 days by one person than what else is possible-
Anyways, awesome game, (really glad we are not competitors rn, lol) hope you win!

Good job !
But seriously now, I loved everything, from the dice-shaped animals to the different challenges... The dice effects even seem to combo with each other (like, A re-rolls B with increases C...).
Good job!
Congratz on this great entry.
You should be very proud of this submission!
You also did a great job of making "exiling" a die feel awful. Like how can I leave any of these adorable animals behind?!?!
Incredible submission for a compo!
But yeah I loved the game. No more words.
I noticed a minor graphical glitch. If a user plays until the first selection at normal zoom, then expand to full screen, the tooltip bubbles are render too high.
A different idea for the post-jam, is adding a shortcut of shift-click to automatically send a die into the only matching zone. It could be a nice extra input to consider to avoid the screen panning around as much when putting all dice into a far right target.
I also liked the length of the game. Given more time, having a way to reset to the beginning without losing could be good too, since you already have the reset logic coded.
