For 48 hours, making it 3D has a point, but I find it strange that the player movement uses the arrow keys while the camera movement uses the mouse. Overall it would act like a great base for a bigger project.","format":"md","likes":1,"spam":"N"},{"id":1089367,"author_name":"olsonexi","author_uid":"olsonexi","epoch":1728385228,"text":"Definitely an interesting start with good potential, but it's definitely a bit rough around the edges. Using the arrow keys is fine, though a bit surprising at first when I'm expecting to use wasd and nothing happens. Click to jump is definitely very weird and unintuitive. I would have used space for that. There's also no way to pause the game and get your mouse cursor back, so you have to alt+tab to another window to close the game when you're done. Definitely feels more like a prototype\/tech demo than a fully finished game. That said, it's a pretty fun game once you get the hang of it and I LOVE the vibe you've got going. The music and visual aesthetic are really well done. And given that it's as well made of a 3D game as it is in such a short time, *and* your first ever 3D game to boot, I can definitely excuse its flaws.","format":"md","likes":1,"spam":"N"},{"id":1090909,"author_name":"Jack D. Specific things related to movement that I noticed:\n - the camera doesn't rotate about its center, but seems to be positioned somewhat to the right\n of the center of rotation\n - This isn't a purely visual issue either: player collision\n moves with the camera, so rotating the view with the mouse is enough to fall off\n of ledges, even when you're not otherwise moving.\n - Pressing the jump button seems to \"queue\" the jump for later, so that pressing it while\n mid-air can cause a jump when you later hit the ground\n - Much of the level geometry is narrower than the minimum distance that the player can\n travel, so tapping a key to do a slight adjustment sends you careening over the edge.","format":"md","likes":1,"spam":"N"},{"id":1114868,"author_name":"ArtAllester","author_uid":"artallester","epoch":1729099336,"text":"Nice attention to detail!
