made by egawag for Ludum Dare 54 (EXTRA)

This is the first demo for a larger game we are working on. This is just about testing the basics of combat.

Current Game:

Future Game:

A 2D-HD Action Roguelike.

Right before saving your loved one with a potion you brewed. You died.

You went to purgatory, and as Death was about to reap your soul, you stole his scythe.

Now you are on a mission running from Death to get back to your loved one. Defying death itself.

Swing your scythe, brew stronger potions, and get back to your love.

You've definitely got a good start here, the movement feels pretty good, and the art style mixed with 3d is pretty appealing! I wasn't able to beat many of the enemies since most of the time I was only able to swing an attack once in a while and it wasn't very clear why I wasn't able to attack. I'd be interested to see the game as it evolves so keep up the good work!

I tried out the demo, but it was a bit hard to understand the mechanics really. First time I use left mouse button I do a slash attack, then after that, no matter how I can't do any more attacks. So first attack felt quite natural and dashing and such.

Good start, but attacks are often unresponsive.
Deffinitly nice concept, and if done well, it has potential.
You can add parry, that temporarily stuns enemys if done in perfect timeinf, and counter attacks that deal more damage.

defeated enemies following player were funny. Are they still attacking before they despawn? :D

Well... Okay, huh). I definitely don’t think players need debugging information, but if this is your first experience, then good luck to you in the future!

An okay begging to a fighting/Roguelike game.
