made by LDJam user 372515 for Ludum Dare 54 (JAM)

Get your best woodland buddy and steal as many artifacts from the British Museum as you can get your sticky paws on!

Play in browser! (Rate this one!)

Post-Jam Version! (Don't rate this one!) But play it after cause its more fun!! (Global Leaderboard, Controller Support, Sfx & Music!)

Animationgifsdfdfg-min.gif

Play Co-op or alone!

This is a co-op game first! Grab hold of the same artifact as your friend and experience some speedy or cautious thieving antics! Or challenge yourself solo controlling both critters!

Objective

Your objective is to carefully (or not) maneuver artifacts out of the museum and into the back of your truck without getting caught!

Careless hauling will decrease your item's value, or straight up break it. Damaging goods will also slowely alert the authorities, leaving you with just enough time to quickly scurry to grab whatever you can before making a getaway.

Controls

| Character | Movement | Grab | |------------|-------------|--------| | Fox | WASD | Shift |

| Raccoon | IJKL | SPACE |

Whoopsies (Post-Jam Version now includes Sound + Controller Support!)

No Sound? We had a bunch of royalty free sfx ready to go but ran out of time... But dont worry. I gotchu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soXQiu5Nrn4

Single-Player? Didn't manage to add a single player mode so the camera might be a touch frustrating without a friend and dragging things alone is not nearly as fast and chaotic!

Controller support? Yah... for a game very well suited for a controller, we simply forgot we hadn't implemented it.

CHANGELOG: 10/2 4:51 PM PST Fixed a single line of code that was inadvertently breaking the core gameplay loop after rushing a change last minute before release. Destruction can now resume as intended.

CHANGELOG: 10/10 8:50 PM PST Changed project settings window stretch mode to "2D". Fixes massive embedded game size for 1080p users.

This is such a great game, cool concept and well executed. Was a little confused at how you were supposed to leave but having them leave by getting into the truck is such a nice touch. Even the inventory management became fun with the physics-based dragging - which was oddly intuitive as well.

I'd say you should zoom out the camera a bit, having it average between players is fine but it shows you very little in the direction where your co-op partner is not, which can be annoying. I'm also really missing some sounds in this game, even any random royalty-free sfx would have done wonders for how this game feels. I'm also not entirely sure how alerting the cops works, it seems somewhat random/unrelated to my actions at times.

Overall though it's a great game with incredible art and tight game design, something to be proud of for sure!

I found the way the game works creative, I think it could have a little less zoom on the camera, mainly because when we play singleplayer sometimes the camera is in an uncomfortable position in relation to where the player is at the moment, and another thing is the things bump into each other unintentionally, which sometimes makes you lose some of your score.
Overall a fun game, with a good game design, visually beautiful and fun (especially playing with a friend), congratulations!

what a fun game! I found that to control the raccoon it was IJKL instead of arrows but after I figured that out I mained the funny raccoon! I love concept of these two furry companions going to steal from the British haha!

Some stuff I really liked
- The movement was really nice
- Getting stuff into your truck wasn't annoying at all and I quite liked the physics
- The look of the game is fantastic great job

Cons
- No sounds was really a bummer this would've been a 10/10 if there were any!
- The camera could use some work, maybe split the camera between both thieves? or at least zoom it out a little more

Anyways what a fantastic game, will definetibly keep a look out if you decide to go farther with this concept!

Really cool game. We tried something similar with our game but in a simpler way. We also wanted to have objects that can be broken but had not enough time. Really cool to see it here. I destroyed all the things in the truck before getting away - totally fun.

underrated I would say. Really love the idea, and how cute the raccoon is. LOVE IT

The art is wonderful and the movement feels great. Sometimes the value deductions felt unfair (physics is often 'unfair'). It would have been nice to see the raccoon have some following AI if you didn't have a friend to play with, but it's fantastic to have a co-op feature in a game jam. Some jazzy mission impossible action music would suit this game well.

this is so cute! love to rob museums with my foxy bestie.

the controls feel really nice - i played first on my own trying to wrangle both by myself and that was a bit difficult, but it is very nice with a friend!

Fun story, I was undecided between a fox or a raccoon for my game, looks like you chose both (good choice), not gonna lie, it was a challenge to play both, but it was quite good fun

This game looks very good already, the art is incredible and it feels like just a few tweaks away from being a really awesome party game

And it is nice to see that I wasn't the only who didn't got time to implement sound (but the Mission: Impossible music is just *chef's kiss*)

IT WAS SO GOOD !! I played with my boyfriend, we had a lot of fun  , we developed incredible strategies like put the truck just in front of the door for more efficiency . We managed to steal the museum safe. I think it's my favorite game so far congrats

Played this on stream with a friend, and can emphatically say that this is an A+ co-op experience. People in my chat were saying that they could see it as a full release on Switch, and I agree. The art was adorable and the fun is in how deceptively challenging it is to manipulate the objects within the limited space. Excellent work!!

I really like the atmosphere, everything breaking around while you try to get maximum value. Characters reminded me of thiefs from Home Alone, they are clumsy and trying to be mean, but are just comical :)
Although I played it by myself for the first try (I need to show it to my friends for co-op), I can see this being released with different levels, sleeping guards, locked doors and random stuff.
Amazing graphics, everything fits the theme completely.

Really cute art style, with buttery smooth movement and animation. Very hard to take stuff out without smashing everything, but that's classic co-op chaos fun! Playing solo I just had one character hold the door, which kind worked okay. Wish I could've got the master sword! One thing I found was that it was hard to get the game to recognise that both characters were back in the truck. Also not sure how you get deep into the museum without raising the alert level. But overall very nice polish and bonus points for stealing back from the museum of cultural theft!

Had some fun in this game, played it with a friend

The mechanics were very similar that in Moving Out, but the robbery theme was a fresh turn.

Too bad for the lack of audio, the mission impossible theme fit the game well and we played it in the background but can't add that to score to be fair.

It was solid entry as log as physics games go, we didn't encounter any bugs but items felt to break a bit too easily.

I absolutely love this. It's hard to control both of the characters at the same time but when they both just go through a narrow space without hitting anything at full speed ooh does it feel good.

this was SO FUN to play! i've plated it with my girlfriend, who isn't really a gamer, and she loved it as much as i did (she had a controller and i was on keyboard). art is really nice and readable, controls are ridiculously fun.

to be honest, i found that the theme was mostly about how you fit the items on the trunk, but in my opinion, the core of the game was discretion and steal, and not much the tetris part.

however, it was one of my favorite games this jam, thank you very much for the enjoyment!

09. Oct 2023 · 14:25 UTC
Awesome game!

The art is incredible for a jam, the level design is solid. The game might feel like moving out clone at first, but it has a lot of little smart design decisions that differenciates it: the way the time alert limit works, the fragility of items, the fact that you don't want to take everything but have to chose what to prioritize.

Great game and very impressive for a jam, good job team ✨

Charming coop game! I am honestly not sure about the collision of the items. I think they are breaking a bit too easy. But I also played it solo, so the dynamic might be completely different when playing it in coop.

What an adorable and smart game. The concept is fantastic and this seems really fun. Keeping this in mind when I go to my fiancee's place cause this seems fun to play with someone else. Unfortunately the web build's viewport is way too large for my laptop screen which really hindered how I can play. I don't feel like I'm able to get the full experience however because I am playing alone at the moment.

What a fun little game!

The graphics are great, I find the idea really charming, I really like the heist angle!
The fact that you can actually break and things, forcing me to maneuver more carefully through some sections really put me in that mood, plus it makes clever use of the limited space theme!

The concept of controlling the 2 characters independently, it can lead to some really funny and chaotic moments trying to coordinate them and especially with the time limit at the end. I feel like with practice I'll be able to collect more treasures. Tho I do see this handling more precisely with an actual controller.

I was a little confused at first on how I was supposed to load I the treasures but I quickly realized what to do lol.
Overall I think this is a great concept and I really enjoyed it from what I played!

Cool entry. Tails are definitely great and graphics overall! You addressed all issues we had in the post-jam version, so no point in mentioning them and good job there. We got #6 in the leaderboards - Limbos ^_^ - and beat @togis and @burchyn *hehe* :smirk:

As @civmaniac said, cool game! It's a great base in the jam version, but it's a total banger in the post jam (we rated the original, of course)! The music adds so much to the atmosphere, and you can finally put heavy stuff on the pressure plate to disarm the laser  It's fun to play together and coordinate.

Personally, I adore the characters, and their tails are glorious. Graphic direction overall is very good. Stuff gets destroyed quite easily (except for the safe), but I won't be complaining about that too much - it's a fantasy world, after all. Maybe everything there is produced out of extremely flimsy materials

Great work!

great nice game...

too bad I can't play co-op. the mechanics of grabbing things are terrible at times. I couldn't move from my place until I realized that my fox was not only pulling the vase but also holding on to the door, simply because I was holding shift.

Amazing artstyle and nice play with the theme.

It would seem I am too clumsy for this line of work, I would probably break the whole thing instead

And my sorry partner in crime was absolutely unable to handle IJKL controls

I'm rating by post-jam version though. I'm not sure how it works here nor care, I think it's fair to judge by game's current state rather than it's original release state as I rather judge by design as intended, not design as managed due to time constraints. It's not a contest  Anyways, I digress :) Well done!

And do I hope you're planning to evolve this idea, I definitely see myself playing it on consoles with plus 2 partners! ;)

Fun premise, I got curious from seeing the mugshots and I love the graphics in game too, the gameplay made me invested and I just grabbed the biggest things I could xD Loved the mechanic of price dropping if you damage the item, that's quite smart and makes sense. I am super clumsy tho so...

First tried Jam version, decided to be super careful and got away with just a few big items:
![robbery.jpg](///raw/c93/65/z/6064e.jpg)

Loved that final CG, makes me really happy ^^

I am not sure if it's my bias or sth but I felt like in updated version you also changed movement a bit for the better? I am not sure but it felt faster and smoother. But maybe I just got more used to it by then?

![2ndrobbery.jpg](///raw/c93/65/z/6064f.jpg)

@kanity Thanks so much for playing! You're definitely right that I slightly tweaked the movement (speed and player weight) a bit. Glad to hear that you felt it was for the better as well haha.

Not sure what could have happened with the exit condition. It should automatically conclude the run when both players return back to the driver and passenger seats of the truck. Sorry it didn't work and you couldn't post to the leader board!

Super cool game! I played for a long time and really had a good time! I had a hard time getting my treasure in the car and then I broke them on the car lol. The game graphic is also cute and nice, The gameplay is easy and smooth, The only suggestion is that I don't really like the shift key to grab things, would like to add other buttons like mouse control. It is impressive to make such a great game in a short game jam, I hope it continues to develop more maps and makes it on Steam. Really fun and humorous! If you like puzzle, give a try of my game 💗

Very cool game! We will probably see it at the top! The only thing I got annoyed about is that the keys for the second player is too close to the player 1 keys.

Once you master the controls, it becomes difficult to tear yourself away from the game

Excellent idea ! I made more than 2 million dollars.

The collaborative work is also an excellent idea (though I was all alone to test the game).

It's cool to have objects that needs to be handled carefully. And the placement in the truck can also become strategic. Don't lock yourself in the truck while putting objects inside !

Graphics are really cool, perhaps the best graphics of this Ludum Dare I've seen so far. The objects are well designed, so that you can immediatly guess their values from their aspects.

There are also nice ideas of "traps" : doors that opens from only one side, lasers, etc. We need more of these, and more that needs collaborations.

How is it possible that you made this in such little time!? Seriously, the level of polish in this entry sets an uncomfortably high standard for the rest of us haha. I was a little disappointed that the Jam version didn't have any sound. IMO you could definitely have cut back on some of the presentation values to get sound in there and made a bigger impact with the same amount of time spent.

I didn't get to play with a friend, so I think my impression of the gameplay elements might be more speculative than justified, but I could see the level of thought you had put into the dynamics of things like doors and weight of objects requiring cooperation, which is really great to see for a game requiring two players.

Very few other negatives or criticisms I could come up with. This is really just impressive, congratulations!

@adamcyounis Hey, I'm the artist on this one. I love your pixel art videos! You've been a big source of inspiration/info on my game dev journey, so it's exciting to see you liked the game, and the art :)

My partner and I each got carried away polishing the stuff that's most fun for us, and didn't get around to sound. Definitely something we'll remember for next time.

You watched me play on stream so leaving feedback is kinda silly but here we go: why did the Egyptians do such a bad job of making sarcophagi? They were so fragile. Gold shattered like glass. Everything I thought I knew was wrong. Also, cute animals are not allowed to drive, even in other countries.

Great entry! Had a lot of fun stealing the place dry with my girlfriend. The comedic touch is on point, we laugh a lot at the precious vases that we hauled all the way and broke just by loading them in the truck a bit too enthusiastically. Too bad that there was no sound on the jam version, but well, there was limited time! Overall a very solid entry and we had a great time playing it, well done!

Amazing game! This was so fun to play, thanks for the laugh! The graphics are beautiful and the idea of cute animals burglars in the British Museum is really funny! Btw, I'm so happy that there tails don't break anything ... I would have been the death of me. I played in co-op with my boyfriend and when we finally got the controls under control (hehe), it was quite adictive! We got 3'000'000.- 🤩✌🏻 Thanks for this entry!
