Pactory by LDJam user 373644
Welcome to your new job at Packtory, Inc, valued associate! Your job is a fulfilling role in our Packing division, where you will spend your time packing smaller boxes into bigger ones. Excited yet? There's more! You get a bonus based off the amount of space you take up: the less, the more packtacular!
Each difficulty series has 5 levels, except for Insanity with 3. Complete all 5 levels in each series before continuing - I didn't have time to add a save state with locked progression before the end of the jam.
Good luck in your new job, and remember our motto: We own you!

- I like the physics and having everything interact with each other and the cows liked to spin a lot. Moving objects seemed to apply a lot of force, a bit annoying but it worked well with the object losing (off screen) refund mechanic.
- I did the easy levels which were fine, then tried the insane ones but everything just kept bouncing, truly insane.
The itch.io version I uploaded today is identical to the one I uploaded here yesterday, but if you are rating the game, stick to the compo rules and run the version I uploaded here yesterday.
My strategy was throwing all off the items off the screen simultaneously and seeing them glitch into one mess. 😁 It works well if you're ~~lucky~~ skillful enough.
Overall, a funny, even though a bit annoying game. Great job!
@alec Thanks, I am quite proud of how the grabbing physics turned out, since I scripted all that myself! Some objects are jankier than others, I think scaled objects (esp. cows) are handled poorly
@woona I like your strategy, but I will never hire you to move anything of mine!!!
The premise, art, and "flavor" all contribute to a really fun and goofy game. I got a kick out of a number of the jokes (like the skeleton on the difficulty screen, packing "the cow and all of its belongings", and the Far Side reference). This fit well with the gameplay of frantically throwing animals and objects into a box under time pressure.
I will say that I found myself fighting with the physics a bit, which could be a little frustrating in a game with pretty tight timing. On the other hand, you did have an untimed difficulty, where I could practice and satisfy my desire to actually pack things optimally. It might have been nice if this was an option you could use for all the difficulties, so you can try the difficult levels without the time pressure.
Would have been nice to have some sound effects and/or music, but of course it's very difficult to scope everything into a Compo game and you had a lot of other content in the form of levels and objects.
Good luck during the rest of play and rate!
Don't forgot to play each difficulty level ! (You will probably survive even in insane mode).
It's hard to balance a physic game, but you manage to play with all physical properties to make fun reactions (stuff very heavy, very bouncy), congratulations for your entry !
