Great concept and a clever way to represent the Theme, loved the graphics (I almost died when i saw those big teeth coming from the deep, and the ending was perfect) Congrats!

Very good game. Complete game with background, art and introduction. Also has a special way to aim to fit the background story of the game.

Nice job! I can see this being a fun little game if you doubled down on some of the survivor genre trends (upgrades/chaos). I can see it working. Good Job

This is an awesome game with awesome graphics and highly addictive gameplay! Very fun to play, but maybe gunplay could be more intuitive?

Sick art , music choice adds to the atmosphere so good job on that to. UI super clear and understanding (found out this is pretty hard).
Nailed the theme , good job team.

Very good introduction, nice concept and music. Shooting mecanics is good but very slow, and it's very long to reach the surface, too long, too much ennemy, need to clic for each shooting, really hard after a few minute.

Quite interesting concept and well done execution. Although I didn't find the aim and shoot mechanic to be particularly enjoyable the game was wasn't too harsh with its penalty for getting hit which balanced it out.

I really LOVE this art! The monster setting is really Cthulhu style, especially the octopus, with manny eyes on it, this idea is freaking insane! Also, UI is clear and understanding, screen smooth. Very INTERESTING game, pretty good job:P

This is a very good game, whether it's music, art, or gameplay, it attracts me very much. The music and art of the game really make me feel like I'm at the bottom of the sea. I played for about half an hour and cleared the level, but I still want to continue playing. It's really a fun game.

Beautiful art and the game is really clean for a jam! Especially for a first ! Suit the theme to perfection.

However, i though it was too repetitive, even though the difficulty was well dosed. I think maybe addind variety of approachs, or powerups for your guns could be a way to avoid that.

Good job !

Yes, the game has three endings. 1. Joni can return to the shore alive. 2. She gets eaten by a shark. 3. She gets eaten by a sea monster.

The art style is impressive and the game is very delicate. The gameplay is simple and easy to get started, allowing players to quickly find the rhythm of the game.

For me, in the latter half of the game, due to my familiarity with the shooting method, I may feel a bit monotonous. If the game can include weapon upgrade/selection elements, it will be even better (for example, selecting different types of weapons for different ocean monsters), as well as the means to repair the cage (for example, during the repair period, players cannot move and suffer higher attack damage, but players who are willing to take risks can get a brand new cage).

Overall, great job. I successfully used my hand speed to become a machine gunner in the cage :)

Great visual !My hands got so sweat when the monsters attacked the cage. If designers can add the lengh I have run in the end or at the right side will be more perfect. Expecting!

@aegisfate Thank you for your suggestions and comments.

To be honest, one player successfully exploited a bug and ended up with eight arms, turning into a literal turret. Our programmer's face was priceless.

It is really interesing! The sound effects are truly impressive, and the music is well-aligned with the style. I also find the art style particularly to my taste. The game is pretty fun. Your team makes a good balance between technical implementation and final effect. However, I believe it would be better if there were some sea creatures circling around the player, which possess higher HP and attack at random (Even as it is, my hand's pretty sore from all the clicking in the current version!).
But, you know what could crank up the deep-sea terror? If there were these marine creatures circling the player, tough ones that take quite a few hits and attack out of the blue. That'd be something, right? (Even as it is, my hand's pretty sore from all the clicking in the current version!)

Ah it wasn't easy and the sharks brought my cage xD But it's a cool idea, nice play on the theme, and I don't think it's a flaw the game is not too easy. On the first try I skipped the picture with controls too fast so I was just confused. 2nd time I looked at it and realised how to actually shoot the gun lol and it went much better. But then for several seconds I couldn't seem to shoot it (maybe the character was reloading?:))) Overall the thing that blew me away the most was the graphics! They are just fabulous!! Music is nice too ^^

Really good first Ludum Dare! The art style was really cool, I liked that you took the time to make screens for the story at the beginning, and the background was awesome. The game was super hard though! Is it actually possible to make it to the surface, or does it just go on forever? At some point it felt like there were so many fishes that even though I shot constantly my cage never moved

The sprite work in this game is absolutely phenomenal! The shooting felt very satisfying and I loved the creeping jaws that slowly made their way to get you. The added dialogue at the start and beginning is a very nice touch. Maybe you could add a light mechanic to sell the deep sea feel more?

Nice! I love that artstyle, its very retro pixel but also has that unique touch to it! Gameplay is a bit simple. I feel like you don't really have to move once you figure out you can release right mouse before aiming. Could be really cool with some more work on it though

I enjoyed the audio and visuals. Great take on the theme, definitely felt like space was limited. I would only like to see more feedback on progress through the level and how much health my cage had remaining. good job! :smile_cat:

Quite like this game! Would be nice if the text was enhanced with sound effects etc to increase the sense of feedback! Love the action animation of leaning down ready to shoot as well as the sound effects! As for the graphic art, it's really awesome, in addition to the awesome cover, I really like the part where the background gradually changes as it floats up, gradually rising from the deep sea to the shallow sea, and the bright coral and light in the shallow sea made me feel hopeful of being rescued, even though I was eaten by a fish shortly afterward, but the atmosphere of the game is pretty much spot on! Very good team work!

It's a game with a very appealing art style, and although it will be a little awkward in terms of shooting and aiming controls, the overall difficulty is moderate, and I look forward to the author's next game

This is incredible! Love the application of the theme and the cage art really sold the experience. I liked how so many times I thought I was a goner when my cage took just one more hit - it adds a lot of tension! I think the difficulty curve is pretty great honestly, but what I found unusually hard was the aiming and firing of the gun. It took me a while to realize that I could only aim and shoot on the side that I was facing. One big improvement would be to allow the player to aim the opposite way they're facing and turn them around at the same time. I understand this may be intentional design, and while it is definitely adding to the challenge, it starts to feel like an unnecessary hurdle. I wish I could have made it to the end! The artwork across the board is just amazing. The music seemed a bit out of place for the tone - I was expecting a dark and dangerous soundtrack to the threat of death by sea monsters! Still, it's a fine choice and it didn't detract from the experience much at all. Great job team!

Awesome entry!
Everything was well done and was a great play, I loved that you had to manually move the aim rather than a 360 degree movement.
Art was great, and the music was spot on.
Good luck!
