Merge Soldier by LinWenHao

Have fun, everybody~
Try to merge your soldiers, because you just only have limited space to place them.
Tips:
- Click the left mouse button to place your soldiers on the battlefield.
- When placing a soldier, all soldiers adjacent to it will attempt a fusion upgrade.
- Role Group will be created every once in a while.
- Soldier\
s upLeft number is soldier\s level,if your soldier`s level >= 4, your soldier will become a stronger soldier type.

This thing is really tough on my PC, the fans started furiously spinning right away. You might want to check that, it doesn't look that graphically complicated :)
Obvious next step, sounds!
Well done!
got one issue, when adding upgrades: UI doesn't fit in fullscreen 1920x1080px screen, but is still playable.
nice implementation within the theme.
I did use lot of archer damage upgrades mostly.
I don't quite understand the merge of soldiers, it sometimes does it and sometimes doesn't even if they seem to be same type.
I like the speed option once it gets really running.
I wish you could choose in what row you place the soldiers. putting soldiers in front would help more. but I guess it's part of the design.
If you add some particle effects, sounds effects, music, background image, sprite images and polish the UI and add extra gamemodes it could a fully fledged game. Good work for a gamejam!
I didn't fully understand what is a "role group" and what is my "current role group cache". Maybe the next units to be placed aren't fully random, I just didn't understand this role group thing? :D
And that "UpLeft" number means that when a soldier levels, they upgrade on their own, without fusion? Or is it a whole separate system? Also it would be helpful if the upgrades would show on the left panel.
Anyway, very nice entry, it lacks sound, graphics, tutorial, etc, but it makes up on game design, it was really fun! :) Keep it up!
- I'm sorry I didn't specify some of the terms in my game, but I call a unit a Role, and then you can place a group of these units in the bottom row at the same time, which I call a RoleGroup.
- In the upper left corner is a unit's level, which is a separate attribute for each unit, and when a unit reaches level 4, it becomes a stronger combat unit.@tudvari
For some reason whenever I restart the game, it gets extremely buggy and lags a lot, idk if its just performance issue or some bigger bug, but I would take a look at it.
Don't get me wrong, this is a GREAT concept, I really wanted to continue replaying the game more and more, it was really fun and challenging, even with the issues mentioned. Congratulations!
i played it more like a clicker game matching colors because i was not sure how to strategize which was kinda fun
Very fun game, I love the take on the tower defense genre, at first I had no clue wtf was going but the merge mechanic became clearer and clearer as the game progressed.
The update thing is broken though, choosing always the damage update is the only good choice (resisting one more hit grants 1 more damage per unit, while dealing 1 more damage grants 1 more damage per life per soldier (which is enormous), up to infinity for archers.
I agree with the others, a little more explaining would be nice, especially a tutorial level like Minibetrayal said.
The graphics were enough as well, and the UI was ok to understand (I didn't notice the stats of the units on the left though lol).
There were some bugs, especially Restart was making it impossible to play the game again, and at some point on the powerup selection screen the game still continued to play for some reason ? But they weren't horrible and weren't really annoying.
Nice game ! I enjoyed playing it. It'd be nice to have a more complete version if you plan on continuing it !
