Catch the sheep to deliver sleep.

I like the art style and the audio feedback is also really nice. Sadly, you can tell it's made in a short span of time, as the gameplay is very repetitive. It also doesn't really fit the theme that well.

@lathomas64 there isn't a lose condition. I will need to make a final goal achievement where you'll be asked if you want to stop playing or continue. There's a few more ideas I'd like to work in to add variety and a little more challenge.

Couldn't really come up with good lose conditions.

I got so carried away playing this, very cute!
I wasn't too sure if I was supposed to be avoiding the numbers not related to the ones shown in the box, the sound suggested I should avoid them but it still seemed to make my score go up :)

@tofucat Hey thanks, glad you enjoyed it. As for the numbers not in the box, sound I decided to leave the sound there even though there is no negative to getting them. One more thing I need to add that I have time for is an ending condition which is when you reach >=32768 (max number for pixo-8).

Cute game! Like the art. Would have been good to add some explanation for what you're expected to be doing other than catching sheep. Still not sure what the numbers mean.

Gotcha, yeah I see how the numbers are a little confusing. The original concept was that you were delivering sleep by catching sheep, baaa. Though that changed a bit to that you are trying to deliver a particular number of sheep. In the least amount of time.

Fun little game! The audio is catchy and you nailed the retro style. I like the take on the theme about delivering baby sheep. I think it would help make the gameplay feel more innovative if you emphasized the sheep number-matching/breeding mechanic. There could probably be some fun strategy elements there.

I like the sheep-number matching mechanic. It's got a lot of potential, maybe if you made it so that you have to avoid sheep with numbers that aren't on the board? Maybe they negate score or something.

I always love that Pico-8 palette, The gameplay is fun, although a bit repetitive. Great Compo entry. :sheep: :sheep:

pico gang! the multipliers are very cool mechanics, really made me involved until around 4000 points. if I could add something, that'd be to have some negative effect sheeps (black sheeps perhaps) to make the player avoid something as well not just collect the sheeps. but to be fair it is really fun to collect them. great job!

Hey, great pico entry overall, I enjoyed it, but I was thinking is I missed something as I was collecting sheeps pretty slow. Maybe what @chum-chum mentioned above that you have to skip ship with the "wrong" numbers?
And a minor issue: The numbers of the sheep in the top lane are a bit hard to read sometime, maybe try and put them one pixel lower?

Felt like a cool twist on the idle genre. The number matching mechanic with trying to double up on all the sheep first was a great addition - gave it a good amount more depth. And I love PICO-8 games - nice work!

Got to the end but ... after ending everything on my screen seems to slide, I think this game is creating weird illusions, anyway, it was super simple but fun, can't believe i spent 6:44 min just pressing up and down to catch sheeps haha

Cute game! it took a long time to collect those sheep lol. Watching the numbers go up is mildly addicting! nice entry

This concept is a good one to expand on. The mix of idle game and side-scroller is clever.

However, since the numbers are rare anyway, I don't think it pays to wait for the second iteration of that number to get the baby sheep in there.
So, I think the dominant strategy is just to go for all the numbered sheep, which can make it boring.

2 buttons and delivering, that's my impression of this game. FYI, there was LD jam with 2 buttons and growing theme before.
Anyways, it's nice simple game. Doesn't have much depth in it but it's simple enough to understand and play.

I kept thinking of Pac-Man, as if I were gobbling sheep instead of dots. Oddly, a pleasant feeling. The sound effects are strangely appealing, and they add a lot to the game. Did it in 6:55. Fun! A good use of PICO-8.

Such a good flow! I really enjoyed the game, it was very fun. I like execution and very clever game design
