Alpivery by LDJam user 303052
2D climbing simulator with an interesting and complex climbing system based on precise control of the character's hands and control of his endurance. The player's goal is to get to the top of the mountain and deliver a flag to the traveler, which will be installed on top of the mountain.

Today we finally fixed all bugs and released our game
https://qwillak.itch.io/mt-deliverest
The randomization of map can sometimes make the falling stones fatal.
- Good visual design
- I like the skeleton animation used here
- multiple ways of handling the climbing problem
- Nice height / progress indicator
- Not sure if there's any music or did I have a bug? The SFX is there though
- You can spam the clicks to go insanely fast :joy:
- Are the climbable objects randomized or are they set in pieces? I had an issue where I couldn't find a way forward 2 or 3 times
- As others pointed out, the rocks collapsing is a bit too often to my liking.
A good job nontheless! Please list what each folk did in the description. It's always rewarding :)
Your music loop has a "click" in the menu, it's the only thing that really bothers me.
You did a great job overall !
Also in instructions on some pages display there are only 4, at others that there are 8 pages.
It was a little bit stressful at times with the shortnotice rocks and snow patches.
Nice soundeffect on falling :id:
Good Job
We are glad to see that you liked our game❤️
Soon we update our build and RELEASE v1.0 Deliverest with all bug fixes and corrected balance.
So stay tuned😉
Great job though, interesting idea, the stamina really puts pressure on you.
Thank you and good luck on Ludum Dare <3
I'm definitely not skilled enough for this game as I can't get the hang of it, definitely a 'me' problem though, as my partner had grasped it just fine! I think I need to just get good.
Really interesting game, gives me QWOP kinda vibes with the coordination.

A bit difficult on a mac touchpad, but still fun.
also great sound and graphics.
well done.
Literally my first attempt, I'm bad at video games!
We need more games with silly physics and controls like this, like QWOP etc.. Brilliant idea and well executed!
I really liked the Art and Audio. And overall the Game felt really polished.
I have two minor points to critizse:
-the RNG makes it so that the difficulty varies a lot, I feel like with some more constraints on what to generate next to what this could be improved a lot.
-The grabbing feels a bit inconsitent at times. I think it is because if a grab is sucessfull is defined by where the hand is, and the hand has some delay on the movement. So sometimes it feels like i should have grabbed a ledge while in reality the hand was simply not on top. Maybe a solution could be when the mouse is released try to grab. if it fails, let the hand move to the last mouse position for another like .2s or so and try grab again.
But other than that Really great entry. I would say best I have played so far, but that does not mean much since it is the first I am playing this LD lol :D I might come back later to confirm if it is still the best ;D
The artwork was great (I especially enjoyed the aurora in level 2), the scream was hilarious... all around, marvelous work!
I recorded myself playing to deliver as much feedback as possible!

It always fun to see people going for climbing game. Especially when they work like yours ! Great graphics, great controls. Super hard game though ! Good job !
Oh my and i chuckled everytiiiAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhmes I fell ahah
Very impressive art, soundtrack (who did it? couldn't see it in the Authors section), and gameplay!
Visually impressive, I felt the gauge was a bit weird to understand information, but that's pretty much it. Everything else looked very clear and cohese.
The sound effects were very good, but I felt the background was a bit too quiet. It adds to the tension but maybe some snowy tense song playing in the back would feel more fitting?
The gameplay is amazing once you get the hang of it. Really nice to go climbing rocks quickly and grabbing ropes in quick alternation. It is hard and challenging but I didn't feel like it was unfair. It always was a problem of not reacting quick enough to avoid a hazard. I just felt the dying event took too long, took a bit of the motivation to try again.
Managed to get to 72, the cold winds always get me somehow.
Very nice game, well done people!
The art and sounds fit very well and the way of using this theme to build a qwop like climbing game is a very nice twist.
I have one small problem with the way the map scrolls though - sometimes when you aim for something to grab onto the map scrolls and you aim will get thrown off - this was by far the reason for most of my deaths. But this is a small nitpick in an overall very nice experience - and I am bad at it anyways
The game is quite fun but difficult at first. Took me some tries before getting used to it.
It is really fun when you managed to get a bit "fast". The boulder and avalanche can be unforgiving though. Maybe having one life before losing would have make it a bit less frustrating when you get unlucky
Overall the game is just awesome! Well done
Good job!
I think there is a bug though. If you pause the game and then click restart, a red stamina bar shows in the hands and you cannot start playing (at least I could not figure out how to start playing again after the red stamina bar appeared). After falling down, when the restart screen is shown, I can start to play again.
I miss a button to quick restart, as well.
Well done !
-Only gripe is, in the blizzard level if something fell on top it was instant death with low recovery chance. I think reducing stamina drain for single grab would allow more leeway for recovery, and feel less rng.
All-in-all, really well thought out game!

Since you track the time already this would be as simple as displaying the time at the end of level 1 + at the end of level two. Should be super quick to do.
Can you maybe release a post jam version that displays the time if you win? I would love to hunt this :)
"ставлю лайк этой игре, арт сделан качественно, и механики довольно приятные и понятие. могу сказать, что не хватает времени на отскок от опасностей, и не из всех ситуаций есть выход, иогда персонаж не дотягивается до следующего выступа"
I also feel that the climbing is so fun that it makes the space bar forgetable, many times I could've jumped to dodge something but I forgot. That said, it was a really fun game, definitely interested to see a leaderboard on who gets the highest (unless there is an ending I couldn't see for being too bad of a player haha)
I particularly enjoyed the second level, despite the fact that the blizzard was tough to navigate through, the moment where a rock drops as soon as the blizzard was over felt like the game was being mean to me! However, I was able to learn from my mistakes and eventually got better at dealing with it.
As for the graphics and ambiance, they were great and really added to the immersive experience. The ambiance (visual and audio) of the second level was impressive, it made me feel like I was really there. What inspired the game's visual and audio ambiance?
Overall, I had a fantastic time playing this game, it was a fun and challenging experience that kept me engaged from start to finish. I would love to see more games like this in the future!
Nice concept!
The mechanics, the sounds and music, the UI. The levels are elaborate and interesting. I like how you have fully exposed the mechanics!
(never really understood the jump, so that probably added to the difficulty)
Overall the game ran smoothly and looked good. Good job
It was a little frustrating when I fell, because I had to redo a lot of progress. A respawn mechanic or safety rope/harness might make falling a lot less frustrating.
But other than that I did really enjoy it!
I think it's just not my type of game.
Great game!
The game is quite fun but difficult at first. Took me some tries before getting used to it.
It is really fun when you managed to get a bit “fast”. The boulder and avalanche can be unforgiving though. Maybe having one life before losing would have make it a bit less frustrating when you get unlucky laughing
Overall the game is just awesome! Well done thumbsup

I liked your climbing game) There are enough of them, but what I like about yours is that the controls are more convenient in terms of clicking on the right place, we get good control over the character.
However, while moving the camera, climbing becomes a bit more difficult. Maybe make the camera move all the time, then the camera would have slower and smoother movements, and they would not interfere with movement so much. Because the faster and farther camera moves up the screen are too confusing, and the player has to wait until it completes. And so - there could be less intermittent gameplay due to the camera. But this all needs to be checked, of course.
It's sad the levels end so abruptly. In the middle and at the end of the level, it would be possible to stick some kind of sprite with a shelter or a mountain top on top to pre-mark this moment, and not abruptly cut off the gameplay.
I would really like an endless mode! I really miss this, he would be very suitable for this game.
I really liked it, thanks for the game!
The tension of real climbing is well-incorporated into the game system, which is fantastic.
The graphics accurately depict the vulnerability of the climber, and the immersive sound contributes to the overall experience.
Together, all these elements create a synergistic effect, making the game highly enjoyable!
