Wobbly Eats by Srynetix
Welcome on my 7th Ludum Dare Compo entry!
Now that's a fun theme! And once again I choose something "food related" (see my previous game Type-Eat).
So I wanted to challenge Godot Engine 4.0.2 (being used to the version 3), and that was really great! (very good job Godot guys!)
GDScript is more powerful, most of the problems I had in the past with the language are no more, and I only scratched the surface of the new things!
For the drawing, I wanted to use Inkscape for once, and I'm really not disappointed. It's super useful, and even with my bad drawings, the result is quite nice!
So it's a driving game (or more exactly a quirky physics-based 2D driving game), where you have to deliver a food package to customers, but with sand dunes all over the place, so don't drop the food (you would not like it either if the delivery guy dropped your food).
The game got 10 levels, each with time trials to beat.
So try to be the best! :sunglasses:
Software used: - Godot Engine 4.0.2 with my sxgd plugin collection, - Inkscape, - FL Studio
Assets used: - The VTF Mister Pixel font (https://velvetyne.fr/fonts/mr-pixel/) - Some FontAwesome icons (https://fontawesome.com/)
Good luck, and have fun! (I did have fun making and playing this game!)

Glad Godot 4 treated you well. I read many posts saying that it's not really ready for HTML5, so I kept it safe with Godot 3.5, but with your game, it seems that it works just fine. Or did you have to do something special in order to make it work properly? Anyway, nice entry, great work!
The other thing is the requirement for SharedArrayBuffers, but with a simple script it can work on GitHub Pages
Great work!
EDIT: There is now a link to download the macOS version: https://github.com/Srynetix/wobbly-eats/releases/download/v1.0.0/Wobbly.Eats-mac.zip
That's kind of a feature / useful bug which can improve your level times
The only rule is that the package should not touch the ground
I played html version and there were constant screen tweaking, not sure if this is the case on other platforms.
Also background and level colors are almost the same so they blend into each other quite a bit.
Other than that it is a really fun game, good job!
Upd: the same screen tweaking happens in windows build but only when I resize the window to fullscreen
Quite fun to play. Bonus points for the dancing text and for using Godot 4 :)
Cheers
The feeling of the bike was perfect, although it did bottom out and get stuck a couple of times. I understand that it might be on purpose but it was the only thing that felt a bit annoying in this game so it sticks out to me. The intro and scoreboard are really well done, makes you forget that this isn't a released game.
I think the graphics have room for some improvement, but how they are doesn't drag the game down at all - and as it is, the whole thing feels very cohesive and well designed. The music and sounds are pretty good too, only thing I think is missing is maybe a bit of audio feedback for buttons and things - that's definitely a nit-pick at this point. It reminds me of the sorts of games you'd play on your iPod touch (and I mean that as a compliment).
Overall really good job, you said this is your 7th time and it definitely shows. Clearly a lot of experience and talent has gone into this game and personally I think it paid off.
