Theme/Topic

Ok, you are the Delivery Hero. There are people who desperately need food. Find them and deliver them what they need. Pick up the food at the food carts.

Gameplay:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59NcShbuTcY

Pick up food at the food carts and deliver the food to the people in need. The game has dynamic difficulty: - Easy: You get the tutorial screen, a "selfie" of the target person and a path trace, small spawn radius - Normal: "selfie", path trace, increased spawn radius - Hard: "selfie", further increased spawn radius - Very Hard: even further increased spawn radius The game has no defined ending. Play as long as you can. If you don't manage to deliver the food in time the difficulty is decreased at certain points.

Technology:

  • Unreal Engine 5.1.1
  • Audacity

Applied methods / Stuff learned and experimented with (that made it to the final game):

  • Metahuman (Hair Strands are a serious performance killer)
  • Procedural building generation (using Quixel assets)
  • Heavy kit bashing and World building (a lot of fun and even more work; makes games huge!)
  • Unreal MassCrowd/MassAI

Hey, that is a nice delivery simulator! I finally found a game made with Unreal assets, it's always inspiring for me to see what can be done with them. The concept of a food truck-like delivery is a curious take on the theme, and it's executed well. I also got a good laugh out of close-up faces, they are hilarious xD Well done to the authors!

Some amusing prototype, however suited for another game in development, I believe. Anyway, the entry counts, and the idea is quite fun. Despite there's no suspense and the music is too much of a sims-like.

Cool and simple game. The mechanics is nice and controls feels good, and I like that there are different difficulty levels. Quite relaxing! An important points of feedback (I think): making a 7GB game for game jam is an overkill. I know that thanks to this it looks nice, but most people spent about 5-10 minutes per game, and just downloading it takes way, way more time. Not to mention that, at least for me, that big size of a game in LD is already suspicious, but I will trust you ;) Because of this two things people are discourage to try your game. Anyway, good job with the game!
