Dining Room Dash by petitpois

made by petitpois for Ludum Dare 53 (JAM)

Dining Room Dash is local multiplayer arcade game.

Pickup items from the hotboxed and deliver the appropriate item to the servery for the hungry diners. After you serve an item in the servery is gets dirty, so you need to clean it before you can serve another dish on that servery. Once lunch is over (when the timer runs out) whoever served the most food wins.

The overall game layout looks so much like Pressure Cooker from the Atari 2600. Oh, the nostalgia! =)

There's room for improvement: playing with two players at minimum and the 2nd being on the gamepad almost made me not be able to test the game at all. What if I didn't had a gamepad? '-'
And, if player 2 doesn't join, the game does not start.

My suggestion: an "against the clock" single player mode - just keep serving food until time runs out and try to score high. And alternative keyboard controls for 2nd player.

Overall, the game is good, the controls are tight, the graphs are nice and it's fun. =)

How to play it if the calculation is only for a few players? The music sounds pretty nice. The idea is interesting. The graphics are old and pretty - I liked it. It's a pity there's no way to play with AI.
