LD53: House Delivery! by burnedkirby
A game made with wasm4.org .
If you want to play on a mobile device, you should play the itch.io version or the "self-hosted" version. The LudumDare version doesn't go fullscreen on mobile devices for some reason..
How to play:
Press X or click the screen when you see the prompt and when a wreck is on screen to "deliver" a house in its place.
Press X or click the screen when a sign appears to get its effect.
Do not press anything when an already completed house appears.
You lose HP if you miss a wreck or press when a completed house appears.
Try to get as many points as you can!

One thing is, once you start getting pretty fast, it can be hard to read whether a sign is to speed up or slow down, so I didn't really know which one I was pressing, for the house it makes sense since that's what makes the game progressively harder, but I feel like it would be nice if the signs were easier to see at higher speeds. Great job on your submission, though!
Great submission :)
Also, I think text flickering should be slower just to be more readable (at least keep it longer when it's visible).
I liked that game won't harm you for picking slowing debuffs. It's curious how I destroy buildings with a press of a button, though :D
Nice entry!
I wish I had the delivery service to build my house while playing an ice cream truck song, haha!
There's not much to say there. The mechanics and controls are simple. I like that you have multiple actions to take. The audio slowdown caught me off by surprise in a good way :musical_note:
A well scoped entry, would enjoy it on the gameboy, had I one. Good job!
The overall unity of the game's elements is also strong and beautiful.
Music and graphics were cute and the changing of music speed was a great touch!
The "tutorial" text also gets annoying after some time, it made me feel like a child whose parents have to tell them a billion times not to eat yellow snow.
Lowlight: Repetitive
Overall a great simple game that is coupled with a cool artstyle which is reminiscent of playing on my Gameboy Color. Pixel art looked great and the music adjusting to the speed of the vehicle was a nice touch. I appreciated the in-game prompts at first, but then they became annoying as they continued. Unfortunately, I did find myself getting bored of the game after playing for some time due to the repetitive nature of it.
I got a streak of 25 houses without ever slowing down!
Nice simple gameplay loop and I really like the adaptive music.
I like the one button input, more possible effects would be cool.
It fits very well!
Nice job!
The adaptive music was really a nice touch. I guess it was all played from code note by note or was it an MP3 with some effects on it?
I also really appreciated the alternative mouse/keyboard input for accessibility :)
