well i don't know what to say more than: **it's fantastic!**

the idea is super clever, i loved art style, everything feels super polished.

I mean this is just excellent, nothing more! I've played this without knowing your previous games got incredible grades, and i'm sure this one will get great ratings too!

Holy cow, this game was incredible. Amazing art, sound, music, and a super good puzzle platformer too! Loved the theme, really, loved everything about it. And the ending was so sweet!

Genious game mechanic, super polished and great art wow! I just couldn't get over how unintuive it felt dashing to the masks, but I loved the game nonetheless. Was hoping for a final bossfight!

Wow I love this concept, you should definitely consider expanding on this because I think you have something unique and fun here. The art and music fit really well and everything had a good amount of polish. I did feel like the game could have been a bit faster, and I would have liked more control over where to throw the baby, but those are minor nits, I still thoroughly enjoyed delivering the baby to its father. Great job, I hope to see more from y'all

I really like the idea and background story. Art is well done. Choice of oni being added to the game is always a plus for me :D

The ending was super cute! I think the only part where I felt a little frustrated was in the sort of tower section, near the top, with the three Noh masks, the slash lock-on quite often targeted the nearest mask rather than the more upmost mask, which meant that it was quite tricky to ascend in time to catch the baby. Other than that, excellent job, I really enjoyed it.

Gosh this is easily one of the best game jam games I've played in a while! A unique take on the theme with tons of style and polish. The one critique I have was it would be nice to be able to have some control of the babys arc. I would seriously consider expanding this

I find it amazing how a simple color palette can make something so beautiful! Lavish art! I loved the game mechanics. With more work this can become a very challenging game. The soundtrack is very involving and reminds a little of Celesta (mainly in timbre).
The game is really good!

Congratulations!

I loved this game, the mechanics felt really good and didn't feel frustrating at any point!
Music was gorgeous and absolutely gave the game the perfect vibe.
I also really loved the art, it's hard to make monochromatic work nearly this well, so it blew me away!
Good Job everyone!

wow really great work! I thought the core mechanics were really fun and well executed. on top of that the graphics and audio created a very nice experience. unfortunately gamepad did not work for me, but I was playing using wine on linux with the windows version, so it's probably not your games fault. I still managed to get to the end, i was very impressed with the length of the game considering the level of detail you clearly put in

This is game is absolutely, absolutely amazing. One of my favorite games of the jam so far - it fits the theme well in a unique way, and the game mechanic of having to catch the baby is such a creative idea (and the perfect level of fun + challenging). The art and music style also add to the game ambience perfectly. Well done!

Wow this game is genuinely good! It feels like a finished and polished game already! I can see this on Steam. The controls are easy to understand but the gameplay, oh the gameplay is exquisite! Such an amazing concept. Who *doesn't* want to throw something precious into the air, defeat several enemies and get past an obstacle before deftly catching the baby at the end?! It feels like you're in an action movie! Surperb, seriously, I hope this wins!

This was so cool, the controls felt a bit weird at first but once you got the hang of it it worked really nicely. I think you did really well on level design giving the player different challenges but also allowing for multiple solutions at times. And then everything gets pulled together by the awesome artstyle. Really impressive entry!

Really really nice aesthetic! Great job on that! I felt the movement felt really really good at the start, and rather stilted with the baby. The baby juggling was an interesting mechanic, but really limited your ability to move quickly, Moving quickly feels really good in this game, let it shine!

I really liked this one, deserved high critics.

Just one thing, if you throw the baby before touching the goal, you will lose control of the samurai and lose (Deserved, I'm a dumbass), but the thing is you also lose the checkpoint, so... hey... your playthrough has one more level.

Wow what a beautiful game! The idea is also very good, and is a very interesting take on the theme. Levels are interesting and well made. The one thing that I could see being improved upon is adding trajectory guides (idk how to call these, like when you are aiming in Worms) when throwing the baby. Other than that it's a perfect jam game imo.

I love yeeting the little red bean burrito over gaps. near the end i stopped playing safe and tried to style on these fools a bit. I think the child landed on their soft spot one too many times but ehhh itls bee fine. great game and the mechanics felt fluid.

Your video game has impressed me a lot.

The aesthetics are interesting and the mechanics are well thought out. It's easy to understand and the gameplay is quite balanced and original.

With a bit more time, it could become a truly great product.

Congratulations!

I enjoyed the game so much, but I think you say it on stream! The game feels really polished, the art is awesome, the music too and the concept is really pleasing to play. I'd love to see a commercial version of that with the ability to speedrun. I think you have a great concept here and it could do really well. Huge congrats for your entry :)

The game is very well done, it plays nice, looks and sounds aesthetically pleasing, great. I would like the level design to be more interesting, but it's still not bad. Throwing a baby forward is somehow difficult and uncomfortable. In my case, it turns out to be normal and controlled only in a jump. I would also like to see this game more dynamic in motion. Anyway I like it a lot, one of the best LD53 submissions.

great concept, great execution. Many games this jam (and all jams) implement the theme in a lazy way. You took the jam theme seriously both in story and in gameplay. I really appreciate that.

The music, visuals and overall mood was fantastically put together.

Also, Go Love2d! :D

A great spin on the theme, beautiful art style and killer gameplay. The only downside is that throwing the baby gets a bit tiresome after you've done is so many times. Definitely my favorite so far.

Very fun game with original mechanic. Beautiful graphics, excellent sound and music. Ambience is top notch. Impressive level design as well. The holding the throw button to throw further is a bit clunky/hard to understand. Especially if you pressed without inertia and move after, this is the only little complain I have.

Very Good job!

14. May 2023 · 17:03 UTC
Very nice! Good game and a unique take on the theme.

The atmosphere is superb - with the limited color palette and the calm, minimal music/ambience going together extremely well. And thank you for the abundant checkpoints  I loved the animation of the baby after it's dropped.

My only complaint is that throwing the baby forward (or backward) felt a bit clunky and not always executed reliably.

Great work altogether.

Blown away by this! It's so well done! The central mechanic leads to some very fun level designs, and the limited colour and excellent pixel art give this a really stylish look. Chill music fits the aesthetic perfectly as well.

Fun game, nice core mechanic, by the end once you get used to it it feels really fluid and fun. Good character controller and motion. My only criticism is that I think in the onboarding it should specifically say "THE BABY'S TRAJECTORY WILL FOLLOW THE STICK" and not assume you just know that, because it took me way too long to actually realise that, and after I did it kinda trivialised the rest. But not in a boring way, it's still fun to do all the ninja sky leaping flying around baby dodge fight stuff. Nice.

Really nice game. Top notch entry. Very innovative idea for a platformer. Ninja monster baby football. Plays very nicely.

15. May 2023 · 07:02 UTC
Good idea and implementation. However, there was not enough animation of walking when he walks with a child, otherwise it seems as if the character is sliding on the floor. And a very small gravity from falls. But as it is: it was fascinating and the platforming itself is well done (after all, as for me, making a platformer on jam is a very big risk to make control uncomfortable, but you did well).

I have literally nothing negative to say about this game. It was sooooo well done. The baby throwing mechanic was hilarious and unique, and it made for awesome gameplay. The art and music were incredible, I loved the low-color palette, it made everything pop. Dashing, slashing, and homing in on targets felt so smooth. The celeste inspiration was clear, but this game stands perfectly on its own. I *need* you to make this a full game, *please*. You have a gem here, and it would be an affront to gamers not to expand on it. Incredible job.
