Pretty solid all around! I did suffer some audio glitches, could just be my hardware though!

This was a really well done game. I wish I could've got as far as the gifs in the description, but I am not super good at it. I really like bullet hell games and I think there's a lot of awesome polish on this game especially for a jam.

Beat the whole thing! This is incredibly well made especially for the time pressure. Didn't expect a bullet hell game! I particularly liked the balance between "puzzle-like" enemies where you have to figure out the right place to stand and more execution-heavy enemies where you need to constantly move around and dodge.

I don't love the system of losing a power-up every time you get hit, it just feels kind of bad, but I'm not sure how you'd balance the game without it. I think the mermaids could be toned down a bit also, the homing attacks stay on the screen just a bit too long.

Very well done. It's very complete and polished given the time given.

Gameplay is solid with a nice variety of enemies. The animations and graphics look great, specially the water!

Music and theme are nice too. Overall very good. Great work!

Wow, that was great! This is a very polished and well-rounded entry. There's so much content and the enemy variance is great.

Gorgeous visuals, too! I particularly enjoyed the distortion effect on the shadows of underwater enemies.

If anything, the bosses felt like major bullet sponges. I lost my cannon powerups before the last boss so fighting it was super tedious.

Alright, I gave the game another go. I think it suffers from a common syndrome in SHMUPs where you can spiral way out of control with the upgrades. I focused on not getting hit and just maxing the weapon upgrades and the bosses melted like butter.

I guess this problem is inherent with the mechanic where you lose upgrades when you get hit. Get hit and the game gets harder, making you take in more hits and lose more upgrades. Don't get hit and you snowball into this unstoppable force that destroys everything as soon as they enter the screen.

I dunno how to easily fix this, though. Especially without major overhauls in the mechanics and upgrade balance.

@juutis Yes, the balance is something we are also not 100% happy about, but it's what we have settled for for the scope of the jam. Thanks for giving the game a second go!

@andreas-roschal yeah, that's totally understandable. Given the time limit, proper balancing is a very hard job. Nevertheless, you were able to pull off one of the best games I've played in this LD.

Wow! Loved this game. The animation and overall look is super nice and makes me excited for summer lol. The game is maybe a little too easy, but the basics are solid and the bosses were fun to beat. Great job!

Had a lot more polish and charm in the graphics than most other LD games! Two main issues for me:

1. The two-shot cannonballs feels more like a downgrade because you can no longer aim straight.
2. Losing a powerup when taking damage feels unnecessarily cruel, and it makes the first issue more noticable.

Great work though!

Really good executed! In my opinion, it felt kind of bad losing a power up after being hit, but I understand that if you didn't lose them then the game would get really easy. Other than that, I loved the music and the artwork, and it was really fun :)

This entry was extremely polished, and with a lot of content as well! The water shader was beautiful, there were so many different enemies with different shot patterns 😱 bosses even, very well done!!!!! 👏👏👏
Doesn't feel like a jam entry, loved it 10/10

A good interpretation of Space Invaders in an 18th century piracy setting. Enemies are quite diverse, but the general gameplay is the same - hold down the fire button and dodge simple attack patterns of opponents.

However, one cannot but praise the work of artists and musicians. The graphics are pleasing to my eyes, and the music is a little relaxing.

I'm impressed with the polish of the game. The graphics and animations are so nice. I also love the ramp up in difficulty, it got very challenging with the merwhale.

The delivery theme is a little thin, but its there. And the audio is a little repeptitive, but it is a really fun game.
