Hexworld

== Welcome to the Hexworld! ==

Sire! Evil wizard hexed our land and broke it apart.

Thankfully, I am a good wizard! I grant you a power to move your piece of land around and collect other pieces together by your royal hand.

Just remember that people didn't quite like it when the land is moving under their feet. And they tend to, khm, fall down. And the land itself, well, I should say it's a little bit unstable.

Now you have to sort this mess, sire.
Me, help you? No, no, you see, it's something about royal privilege. Good luck.
I'm out to get some Pina Collada, since the earth is shaking anyway.

Additional info

Game is controlled by mouse ʢ•·̫•ʡ
Collect the land, capture buildings and destroy all enemies - but remember, when you move, things tend to get a bit unstable.

If you feel stuck, O/P keys will help you through the levels.
Sorry, we couldn't make the end screen in time, so levels are looped.

M - mute, R - restart

I love the art of this game! I felt that the main mechanics are a bit weird but it was fun to see our little guys falling when moving around, well done!

Really cool idea - I like the game a lot. Any chance of a windows build? Slightly slow in browser for me.

The music is great, watching the little people fight is fun. My only regret is a lack of the pillars collapsing, although if that's just because it was laggy and I didn't get far enough then touuchee.

beautiful game! It feels vast with the tall pillars coming from the abyss. Really creative. I wish I understood why things happened like why people or land would fall and if I had any control over it. It's really fun to watch the little characters interact anyway, even if I didn't have control. Overall the game is gorgeous with a lot of potential. I hope you continue to develop it because I could see myself pouring time into a bunch of levels!

I really love the basic concept of this game. I think the mechanics need a little refinement but honestly I'd pay money for a fleshed-out version of this.

The art style is great, the game mechanic is creative and interesting, the SFX is on point. Honestly nothing to complain. One tiny confusion: I'm not sure if the physics works properly: sometimes the people falls when I move a little but sometimes they don't even if I move a lot.

First things first, this game is beautiful. The concept for the gameplay was a fun take on similar games. The music was also very nice, allthough I wish it was a bit lower - or better yet, adjustable. But this could really become something. Congratulations:)

The art, music, sound effects on this all come together to make a really nice "medieval skyland" vibe, and the moving pillars are a really interesting and unique idea. Sometimes I felt a bit clueless on what was happening and how to influence it (people falling off, battles being waged, columns falling down), but with some trial and error you can do a lot. Really well done!

Beautiful Graphics and great concept.
However, at times I was confused, like other player here, about why my soldiers would randomly jump off cliffs and such.

I could see a very nice little age of empires game developing out of this prototype!

Nicely done!

Had a lot of fun finishing the game. Amazing pixel art and the concept is really cool. It made me wonder if tiles contribute to max population? And do different tiles to different thing? Would love to see even more depth like that. It snowballed a little bit too much for my liking and waiting around for spawn did not seem to have any disadvantage, maybe the tiles could become unstable over time albeit much more slowly. Music was really good as well. Very solid Jam entry.

State of the art, it is what discribe that graphics. I love audio in the game, I want it more!. Nicely fit into the theme. I want more, its very fun game, release it on the steam after some polish. Inovation is what is describe this game, nice. Overall game is very very good, it is very good work, I love it.

One last note: I always write down honest review, because everybody need that, not just nice craps with some bullshit, but sometime I will aperceite very good games. So if this review insult you, but use it well :) Anyway every game is counting so :)

Amazing work and my favourite game of this jam so far! Not only does it feel incredibly polished and is fun to play, but it's core gameplay concept is such a unique twist on RTS's! I could easily see this game being commercially successful if further worked on!

Terrific for a jam-game, thank you for bringing it to us!

This is great! One of my favorites so far. Music and art is great. The gameplay is fun. Letting your guys fight and conquer new buildings before trying to add more was a fun choice. Although I was confused as what the land with non-building graphics on them did since there was no resource counter.

Excellent game! Loved the unique mechanics, and the sound design was superb. Now let's bow our heads to the hundreds of little men who fell overboard (and the probably millions lost at this point, both during development, and by other players). May they find peace in the down-below!

Very interesting mechanic! Loved the whole idea and the mood, music and sound effects were great too.
Didn't expect to see unit variety, so that was a great surprise!

It is great that outer slots decay first, so you can sort of build the way you like and protect important buildings. I'm having some issues to place the slots exactly where I want them but I guess it adds more to the chaotic nature of the game :stuck_out_tongue:

There is lot of possibilities to expand this game, from terrains with effects to more unit and building types.
Hope you keep developing this one! I enjoyed it

The presentation was great. The music and art worked together to make for an amazing game-world.

Unfortunately, I didn't find the game-play itself very engaging. Perhaps there was depth to the combat that went completely over my head; if so, a little bit more in-game help might have made it easier to engage with.

amazing game, super polished (even the cursor floating things have a shadow!!). I do feel like I don't have a lot of control over the gameplay, but it's a great concept that can become a full game with some more interactivity in my opinion (maybe choose which hex block in your territory your soldiers attack or what classes to upgrade hex blocks and soliders to)

I like the medieval feeling of the game, along with fitting hand-drawn artwork and well chosen music! I enjoyed playing the game, a concept of moving lands is really interesting and well made, even though I wasn't sure what made some parts of the land crumble more quickly than others  Sadly I had some performance issues with 8 or more tiles getting attached to my main land, but it was still playable. (+) the controls are easy to use, though there is a need to be mindful & caucious

(+) art is cute in appearance, still what meaning certain objects has is quickly recognizable (fortresses & monsterhives etc.)

(+) multiple levels

(+) an arrow shows where is the next target, so getting lost on a map is prevented

(+) sound effects are crisp & the soundtrack feels fitting & enjoyable

(o) some options would be nice, like muting the music ... ok there is a button, nevermind

(+) multiple factions

(+) there is a manual restart

(-) where land tiles are added to the main cluster or when

(-) when there are gaps in the main cluster, the pathfinding for melee units is broken

(+) It's strategy, but with no building or unit control. It looks like Driftland, but is entirely a different game ... I call it fun, ok?

(+) fun concept, where navigation and assembling creates strategy & tactics

Great game! You can really grow a big empire with land. I also liked the concept that the a piece of the land eventually sinks, falls down so that we don't grow too much. Which forces you to do LAND-MANAGEMENT, which is a good thing. Excellent audio. Exactly like the games where you're conquering land and kings. You got a excellent idea overall! 5/5 for this game.

Great job! The graphics, sound and music were all top notch. The mechanics were very unique and fit the theme really well, although I felt as though I had very little agency. I felt as though I had no control over how the soldiers fell or which pillars would fall. Perhaps adding more control over those "unstable" elements would make it more fun. That said, you really have the start of something great here!

Wow what an awesome game. Unbelievable quality of your game!

The graphics are awesome. Everything was produced with great care and care. You can see how visually beautiful your game is through the small details.

The sound is the same as the graphics. Amazing. Both music and sound effects.

And the gameplay is just amazing. I confess that when I saw the "cover of your game" I was interested in playing just for the graphics, and I didn't expect such a good gameplay. I was completely wrong hahaha. Literally every gameplay is perfect, and it works great. A nice lesson on how to offer a good level design to the player. It is possible to learn to play without even reading any instructions or tips.

Still talking about gameplay, it's a lot of fun to think of strategies to make your kingdom grow. All gameplay elements fit together perfectly. The player must know the ideal time to conquer other realms while knowing how to deal with the lifetime of each platform. Very elegant!

It's possibly the most creative and well-crafted game I've played in this gamejam. It was an excellent interpretation of the theme. Congratulations!
