Spores only cause damage when attacked (and angry). So there's no strategy needed, and you don't have to cautiously use the cards (and you easily gain more).\nIt would have been better for the spores to have random reactions (which would bring it closer to the theme because it's not really the case). Being asked to pick cards before knowing how to use them was daunting. I could do with hand-holding or a simple tutorial. The theme was excellent, defeating spores is fun. Reminded me of Space Station 13, when the spores invade there. Set inside a structure or specific location, such as an abandoned spaceship, might give the game more atmosphere. Pretty cool.
