Bob's Underworld by chesschaser
Fullscreen recommended!
Bob the skeleton was going for a midnight stroll around the underworld when suddenly the place began to become rather unstable! Can he escape?

I was in the middle of a big jump across the screen and got DESTROYED by a falling boulder. Talk about bad timing haha. It would be nice if there was an on screen warning to where the boulders would fall, but there is never enough time to implement everything.
Great entry!
The music track is short and simple, but that's perfect for this type of game, as it does not distract you from your attempts to go further and further up. The pixel art is looking pretty good.
One thing I had a problem with is related to the falling square stones. At first, I thought they were just appearing randomly. Then I've noticed the shaking/rumbling is telegraphing them, but it happened much too early for me to connect the two together. Only after my third or fourth playthrough I've noticed there's actually something telegraphing the location where the stones will fall, but to me it is barely visible. I've recorded some footage and after a few minutes I think I found out what the problem is:

The small rocks are displayed behind background elements, so they're barely ever visible. Fortunately, I think it should be easy to fix by setting a higher order in layer on the sprite renderer.
Other than that, I think it's a pretty solid entry. Reminded me of a few old Flash games I used to play. Well done!
A bit of feedback:
Currently there is no real reason to ever *not* double jump at the apex of your first jump, if a player will always do a certain action maybe that should just be automated (i.e. no double jump, the initial jump is higher). Alternatively: you could give limited charges for this double jump that regenerate!
One problem I ran into was that when I died, the lava just kept rising and I couldn't restart
The pixel art is really cute! It was extremely hard to get off of the starting platform though, I had to jump at the last possible second before death by lava and there was only about a 50/50 chance of making it to the beginning of the generated platforms. Also, at my 81m death, I think the game got bugged out? The only available platforms were offscreen so I couldn't jump on them, and an enemy went off-screen and didn't come back.
Might have to keep doing this a little later, I can never resist the chance for a high score. 😄
I just guess that the controls doesnt anwser as precise as it would be ok for a jumping based game, but i'm not the best player around and it is working in any way you look at it.
The graphics and sounds are quite simple, but perform well their role in the game.
Good job on making this game.
I did find that the itch.io layout/theme was too large, I'm playing on a 1080p television and I had to scroll to find the game :)
kinda easy tho, consider using a "coil" system to drag the lava closer to the player and keep the danger visible
Great controls, smooth responses, great work :D
And I love how the game looks - it looks fantastic; especially the background!
Neat little casual game! Love the pixel style - especially the way the background looks!
Good Job
Very nice job!

by the way,i found that sometimes when you stand at the edge of the platform, you cannot jump.Is this a bug or it is designed specially?
Besides that everything was smooth! :)

Thank's for sharing!
Would be nice to have some warning of where the falling blocks will come, right now it can just smash you without warning.
The quit button is a bit redundant, it just freezes the game :D
Falling blocks got me a few times, I would've appreciated some kind of visual warning, the sound was not enough, at least for me. The enemies make that part of the game more challenging in a really fun way, maybe you could expand it with different types of platforms, like unstable ones where you can't stand for very long.
Nice job!
Good job!
At first I was frustrated by the blocks. They seemed so random. But then I noticed the subtle hints that were being dropped and I did a little better.
Thanks for making this!
The music was very nice and fit the game. It had me coming back for more!
I got blasted by a falling rock a few times haha but it seems balanced!
good job!
Perhaps making it rise faster when you are far enough ahead would keep it closer and making you feel a bit more pressure from it
Falling blocks and ghosts are scary.
Gameplay is a bit classic with cool pixel art. Adding some paralax on the background could be great I think.
Still a fun game, well done.
Спасибо!
I got here and then I got crushed by a falling rock. If there was any indicator of what is above, I think I could avoid it.
Is the quit button supposed to do anything? In my experience, it isn't neccessary on web builds, as it only crashes the game.
Nice game,simple but effect.
Maybe i found a bug~Stuck here,never die

Example of such a soft-lock situation.
Plus there is a glitch where if you let the platforms go over the top of the screen, new platforms can spawn lower, so you can jump onto them
The first step of the jump was a bit of a test for me. I found that jumping too early seemed difficult to get to the platform, so I needed to seize the moment
It reminded me of the Brinstar platforming stage in Super Smash Bros Melee adventure mode.
liked it!
That said, I liked the game. The graphics are appealing and the gameplay is almost addictive. Reminds me of good old Doodle Jump.
The beautiful graphics along with the music create a nice ambience, well done !
Congrats on making a game!
After that it went fine though! Had fun playing, took me some time to figure out I could jump through the platforms. Liked the art and sound a lot!
The lava started a bit too early, if you missed your first jump you'd be dead. Other than that its a very nice entry :)
Finally, others have mentioned this as well, but I had no idea there was any telegraphing of where the boulders would drop at all; I never noticed the falling particles until I read @lcstark's comment about how the appear behind one of the background layers. This is already an awesome entry, with the music, controls, and art all being really great, but I think fixing that telegraphing and the handful of bugs people have mentioned and this will be even better! Great job :D
