Gunslinger Glitch by ugly_robot
(This game is pretty ugly and small - so fair warning lol.)
A quickdraw duel against cutting edge A.I. - can you tell which faces are human, and which are synthesized? Put your draw speed an psychological skills to the test.
You will meet gunslingers with the photos and quotes of real humans, and amongst them, traitorous androids with generated photos and quotes.
The portraits are created with a hyper-GAN and the text was generated with OpenApi's GPT-3.
Web based, play in browser - no need to download anything!

There doesn't seem to be enough time to properly look at faces and read the quotes, but eventually I learned to recognize which faces are AI which then made it pretty easy :)

If the photo includes some recognizable objects then its probably a human. The robots usually have weird abstract backgrounds and pretty faces :D
Art is stylish and every pixel is in place. Sounds harmonize with game and do not distract.
Gameplay is simple, but engaging.
Keep up the good work!
Fun fact - there are also ways to discern based on their behavior with their weapon, not sure if anyone has used that - I think it's the one I rely on most when playing myself (though, of course, I'm cheating - I know all the secrets! lol)
I think you are being a little too harsh on yourself, the game is really good. It is very impressive if you've actually used AP-based quotes for this game.
I think there certain times in the game where I really have a hard time distinguishing what's fake from what's real. Which is both scary for real life, but also a little frustrating when playing, because it feels like you can't base yourself on any logical principle.
Besides that, audio/gfx/gameplay is really good and THANK YOU for including a volume control for the sfx and the bg music.
This was a really good LD entry, especially considering this is a compo on top of all things!
A little unclear on the theme, but the graphics and audio work well with the idea. Well done!
