[raw]
made by Carraka for Ludum Dare 55 (JAM)

After a single semester of pre-med, you decide to major in Music instead. When you break the news to your father, he’s none too pleased. Fortunately, you can use your whistle to summon things to impress him. If you put on a good enough recital, he might just agree to pay for the rest of your education. Your dad has always been a difficult man to impress, but you're in luck. Your whistle has been touched by magic.

All it will take is some willpower to overcome the stage fright…

This game is amazing! The music slowly building up as you add more summons is so beautiful. I feel like I could leave the game open and just listen to the music. I love the style of the game too. The art and animations are so well made. The gameplay is so enjoyable! 10/10!

We spent 15 minutes on the game without realizing how quickly time passed; we could have spent a lot more time on it. Great game!

Really cool theming and the graphics were great! I was really driven by what my dad had to say about each different summon to keep playing. It does take a reallly long time to reach the end though :)

Very interesting game, the rhythm of the background music is really exciting. The game art is cute too, and it would be nice if the personal growth interface were more intuitive

What an amazing game! I played the crap out of it, and loved every second. The heavenly music, the pleasant spin on cookie-clicking, the lighthearted atmosphere, everything. And don't get me started on the audio - soothing, satisfying, harmonious, and totally delivers on the dames desired experience of building an orchestra of simple critters.

The 'could we... ask after your mother' and final drawing of dad frolicking nearly brought me to tears.
Fantastic work, A+ job to everyone, loved it!

Funny game! I like the complexity of the game and it fits the theme quite well. Very cute as well :).

@sarah-vasilides @ugly-robot @fabighindaru Thank you! Almost all of this music was recorded with real voices and instruments (everything except the buzzy bees and the menu music) over the jam weekend. It was really an exhilarating experience writing something in the morning, then having a cellist come into my studio and record it that same afternoon! I'm glad I can share a little bit of that magic with everyone else.

A very, very cool clicker. I had a ton of fun just listening to the music. And also for the sake of interest entered all possible combinations) Most likely, the game can speedrun in about 10-15 minutes, but I suggest that others try it. Anyway, thanks to everyone who made it, well done!

Good game about villager with flute! I like how mix other sounds in one music. And time killer mechanic isn't bad! I feel it very well!

It's a great game. Clicker is not my genre, but it looks, sounds and plays very well.

I ended up playing this game over half an hour, haha. I had a lot of fun! I wish I could have made more complex melodies as I gained more notes. I could have really given my dad a show! I'm not familiar with this genre of game, but I do wish the summons were gathered in some way that was more pleasing than the mass you sort of end up with. Awesome work, though.

The combination of a clicker-type game with the exploration of songs is a really interesting approach. Got me hooked at least  It took me 19 minutes and 42 seconds to finish after I struggled to find the last song I needed

(played the submission)

23 minutes:musical_note: The music is really catchy (at the end a little cacophonic, but that's okay). I really enjoyed this game, it's a very happy one, thank you!

I struggled to learn new summons by myself, and I was frustrated when I lose a high priced note (like a E or a G) for bees. So I stopped experimenting and aim for to buy them with pride.

Very cute - I loved it! I also like that it's a genre I don't see too often.

Aww, what a cute game and ending! I was grinning ear to ear while playing it, it had a lot of great dad jokes in there, plus the music shifting depending on what you summoned was awesome, I liked that a lot. What a neat idea, I thought it was amazing how it all snowballed into a huge orchestra (complete with cellos and accurate angels of course) near the end. Very beautiful game, well done!

This is so cute! I was surprised how many lines the dad had. The music and sound design was also great, especially the way that the sounds that the summoned objects make blended in with the background music was fantastic! I beat it in 34 minutes, but I took time at the end to play every single possible melody just to make sure I didn't miss anything...

If I had one critique, it was that it was sometimes disappointing to work up to play a really expensive note and only be rewarded with bees again. I know it's a jam game, so presumably the number of summonable things had to be limited, but that's something I think it might be worth expanding on in the future.

Thanks for making this, it's really nice!

I absolutely loved this game! Your home-generated SFX were stunning, and really added to the atmosphere of the game. The background track was very funny, and didn't actually bother at all, so it was a great addition.

The art looked awesome, and fit right into the theme of music. The reactions of the dad on each new song were impressive, it must've took some time to figure out a system that could reliably generate appropriate responses without becoming a lot of manual labour to keep track of this.

Overall: awesome game, 5 stars across the board. Great job team!

Really loved the audio and graphics, but the flower wasn't generating any willpower for me (did I need to unlock an upgrade for that?), which was kinda disappointing because I love idle games and really would've enjoyed the sensation of needing to rapidly click for willpower less and less as I advanced.

@justking144 The new post-jam build we just uploaded should have fixed this game-breaking bug. Check it out and let us know if you find anything else! (But be sure to base your rating on the submission build rather than the post-jam build.) I love idle games too, so I hope this allows you to enjoy the game!

Amazing. This is the best incremental LD games I've played. Hunting for new songs was fun. And the vibe was amazing.
