Infiniwitch is a time-bending top-down shooter where you summon & strategize with copies of yourself in order to beat the clock. Utilize different summon abilities to combo with your past lives and deal massive damage.

Use WASD to move, LMB to Fire, RMB to use your Summon's special ability, and Space / Shift to dodge roll.

InfiniwitchBumpGif.gif

We already jumped ship to Godot during you-know-when, but this is our first 'full' game with it, so we learned a lot over the course of this Jam. We hope you enjoy!

Loved the game! first off, the title screen and music are very 90s to me and I approve! great innovative game play. It took me to the 3rd death to realize what was happening and then it clicked. I particularly liked the interaction between the melee copy's shield ability and the range attackers, rewarding you for planning in advance. The art was cute but also clean enough not to clutter the screen. I think I will keep this game installed after LudumDare is over and play it from time to time :D

Super fun game! I could see myself playing this for hours, and the colors make me want to stare at the screen all day!!! Awesome job!

I can't believe the first LD55 game I played was THAT fun, that was such an interesting idea, and the execution was very solid, I sat down for a quick play and couldn't put it down until I had won :)
Curious what each of your records are, I only had like 15 remaining by the time I finally won!

@alpharock6 Thank you!!! Currently my highest score sits around the low 30's, but one of my friends managed to beat the game with 40 lives left - which I didn't even think was possible lol

That was SO FUN!!! I love your executing on this idea, fitting it in with a almost-bullet hell is so smart! The music is so good as well! AND THE VISUALS!!! Amazing you got this in 72 hours, great work!

Insanely fun and the music and graphics are amazing, I love how cute the the little character sprites are

The one complaint I'd have is that once you get to later levels, killing enemies can feel a bit inconsistent. I would kill one guy at 4 seconds, then next run it felt like he wouldn't die until the 2 second mark. Either way, I was having enough fun I didn't especially care

Holy cow...that was awesome. You should win that Jam.

@bobbie Yeah it tends to get a bit desynced near the end - that's my bad. Killing certain enemies faster can cause other enemies to spawn sooner which makes setups that you perform later become inconsistent. It's a problem inherent to this style of timeloop game - I think I did an *alright* job mitigating it but I definitely could have done more. I think the real way to solve this is to keep the timeloop progressing in discrete steps (IE Phase 1 would be its own loop, then phase 2, then phase 3 etc) but then you wouldn't get the super chaotic boss rush feeling.

Those are just my thoughts on it though - glad you had fun regardless!

Very fun game! It took me a bit to realise what I had to attack but it was great once I did. The music and art comes together really well too. Good job!

SUPER cool idea, really liked this! Great visuals and music, and this implementation of this mechanical idea is very engaging. I feel like you put just enough depth into each aspect of this for it to all come across super nicely, really impressed!

WOW! what an entry. Godot is great. Actually glad you didn't hold my hand through the fight, that was so fun to figure out! You guys should expand on this game.

the game is super fun and fast paced, the visuals are absolutely stunning and the sound design is amasing. Love that the game doesn't teach you but you have to learn how the game works yourself.

Loved it! Cool concept, I am left wanting more, maybe different levels or setups where you really need to optimize your summons. The only nitpick I got is that I ended up only using the mage, since it felt like the one that dealt the most damage.

One of the most innovative entries, and I think games that I've played in general during my whole life. I simply LOVE the concept of this game, and I think there's a huge potential to expand upon it to make different bosses/stages!
The music was super fun and engaging, just as much as the sound effects as well, and I love the simple art style the game has. Very well done!

This concept was super interesting and so much fun to play. The strategy you have to think of while fighting with your past selves is really challenging but also super fun. The music was getting intense and it really helped with the overall experience

Holy molly this is one of the best concept ! I love theses types of games so much i couldn't stop playing
Loved the aesthetics the music, the level design and the class design is amazing, being able to combine the alt fires together, i just wished the ranger would be a bit more precise close range but i can understand that it was for the sake of the animation, it was so fun playing it over and over to get the best strategy

My best attempt is 42, i even recorded it because i thought it would be hard to top 41 but i got the run, though i think 43 or even 44 are possible with a better strategy

my favorite entry so far

@nomus DUDE this is so cracked, thanks for posting this - I'm actually flabberghasted at how optimized people seem to be getting with this game, I originally had the S rank requirement at 35 but I bumped it down because I literally couldn't do it, so a score of 42 is mind boggling to me lol

@drainkid the fact that projectiles that couldn't go through the first barriers would make it through at the end game is so cool it allows for predictions and optimization, and then once you push it further it becomes a matter of timing and i love it it's so well thought
Since the first character is forced ranger i would have loved to put the alt fire on someone but it's so hard to do you have to predict the pathing, i did it like 2-3 times but it's so tedious
At first i wanted to see if there was above S rank so i try harded for it lol

This is just too cool for school, my friend. Your game's level of polish and completion is off the charts. It's like you guys didn't just churn out a 72-hour project; you popped out a fully-fledged, ready-for-market product, and I'm already scouring the corners for a 'Buy Now' button, but alas, it's elusive. Seriously, your art style seems like a simple doodle at first glance, but it's all kinds of meticulous and masterful, with each animation delivering a performance worthy of a gaming Oscars. Beneath that deceptively casual exterior, you've got some hardcore, underground design chops. The overall gaming experience is top-notch – the difficulty control, the bullet hell design, all hitting a surprisingly high standard. As an action game aficionado, I know the drill, and that's why I'm just in awe of your mad skillz. You guys are the real MVPs, and you've left me almost at a loss for words. Bottom line, I'm having a blast with your game!

Best game so far. I restarted like 10 times before even getting close to the end because I kept discovering more about how everything interacts, and what's powerful and when.

I ended up beating it with 30 summons left which I am pretty proud of.

Great sound design, great visuals, great game design, just truly stunning work. This would be a great game if you told me it took the team 4 weeks, let alone 72 hours.

Best game I've played so far, well done.

The game has an overall unique feel, with the abstract-art looking graphics and an original core mechanic. The music and sound effects are also pretty good, both the revolver and the magic wand feel good to fire. Perhaps the game is a bit too easy, the bullets can be deleted really easily with the shield and axe, though its still possible for the game to be more challenging if you try to go for a higher score. Overall a really solid entry, keep it up!.

I'm a big fan of bullet hell, so it was a pleasure to play. The visuals are very colorful, but combined with the sounds forms a hypnotic effect and you want to play more and more. Very very good

What an amazing idea! At first I was thrown off of the game since it just throws you into the thick of it, I really wished there was a little cutscene explaining whats going on and what player has to do, but after dying a couple of times I figured it out and I had a blast planning out routes to break the barriers as efficiently as possible. I love the games esoteric aesthetic, both visuals and music pumped me up to dish out some damage, this was a great time!

The gameplay mechanics in this game are so intuitive! It's like the controls become an extension of your own instincts. Plus, the art style adds a unique flair that keeps you engaged throughout. Definitely a gem worth exploring

Time dialation, cool concept. The menu music absolutely slaps. Why wasn't that one used for the gameplay itself?
One thing which was strange was that sometimes I was faster going through the core, sometimes I was slower. My expectation was that, as I build up more copies of myself, it would go faster, only.

Otherwhise great game!

Awesome game over all aspects! My favourite so far!

I wish there was a fullscreen mode built-in or the game would capture the mouse.

At the end it would be nice if the camera panned to the boss dying as I missed it because I was away from it when it happened.

Great work from everyone involved!

Love the past versions of yourself, it's a brilliant mechanic. Visually it's carved out a unique and catchy style that works, and the audio compliments that :]

I am a bit underwhelmed with the actual gameplay, as there's no moving enemies besides, I guess projectiles. Not immediately clear what the overall objective is. Once I broke a wall or two it started to make sense but in the end the mushroom just kept nuking me before I could do enough damage I guess? Still was a fun session, nice work!

I adore core mechanics, at the beginning it was a bit confusing, but later it clicked. Visuals are a bit hard for my eyes. Audio is great, but please make it a bit more quite and add some feedback for buttons. Overall, great job, really enjoyed playing it.

It was very chaotic and absolutely confusing in the beginning, but after a couple of lives spent running into the bullets I figured out the way. And then it became really really fun! It's a nice and surprisingly relaxed game loop after the initial confusion, trying to discover and parallelize all the items you need to destroy to get to that very cute but deadly doggo in the middle.
I enjoyed this entry a lot, especially with all the clever synergies between the classes.
Great job putting it all together!
P.s. When I just launched the game I genuinely had to jump up from my seat and dance for a couple of minutes - so deliciously good was the music on the main menu screen.

This game is the best I have played in the whole jam so far, I loved every aspect.

Style? amazing. music? fire. the mechanic? brilliant. The way the main mechanic it uses the theme is and builds upon itself so creative, I love it so much

It's super polished and it's mad fun. I tried to go for S rank but A is all I was able to get so far, I will definitely come later when I have a bit more patience and try to S rank it because I was HOOKED

All I can say is that I need MORE, I hope this wins this is my favorite game so far. if you plan to turn this into a full game I'd pay money for this

the whole team did Incredible job, congrats!

The game was really fun. It took me a moment to figure out how it works, but I would say that was the most fun part - trying to find what else I need to destroy. Kind of wish there was more bullet avoiding, since it felt there was some at the start and then not much, plus I wish there was a bigger difference in 3 characters mechanics, but I get it is not idea to do that in a game jam. Love the art style, great music, cool game overall, well done!
