Summon an army of ghosts, surround yourself with protecting runes, or let your mana grow into mushrooms? Which strategy will let you defeat your evil twin?

Skärmbild från 2024-04-16 03-58-34.png

Controls: Click on one of the three buttons at the bottom to summon protecting runes, attacking ghosts, or mana mushrooms/flowers. Once you've used all of your blue mana points, the battle starts and your ghosts fights the ghosts of your enemy. It then continues to the next round until one of you defeats the other one.

Very funny game! The mechanics are simple yet addicting. Make sure to add multiplayer support in the future! :)

Nicely polished - great visuals and audio and the enemy AI is just the right level of challenging. UI is simple and intuitive, but for more precise gameplay numeric counters would go a long way.

Great game with good visuals and smooth gameplay. Having a tutorial would have helped but it was definitely possible to intuitively figure out what does what after a few rounds. Overall pretty fun and would love to see more!

Love the art assets for this game, gameplay loop is a bit basic, but sticks to the theme well!

Insanely good!

The victory dance is gorgeous!

I managed to break the game somehow after a bunch of round (I summoned everyone and the game just froze) - before that the opponent was spamming mushrooms like crazy (I'm not sure, he had like 20 of them!), maybe that's the reason.

Amazing game! You managed to create a surprising amount of depth for such simple game mechanics resulting in fights that were much more interesting than I expected in the beginning. But by far my favourite part was when my wizzard started dancing to the win music! (I instantly had to interrupt my friend who was currently playing another game to show him the funny animation)! This was such a nice detail!
I am a big fan of this jam entry :)

Such a great little game! The art was PRISTINE! Got great Nightmare Before Christmas vibes from the little ghosts, and the wizards were so well drawn & animated! The mechanics felt good, and the ai was competent. I enjoyed learning the dynamic of the interactions while formulating the optimal strategy. Great job, team <3

Wow, this is really cool! I liked it a lot. The visuals and audio are fantastic. The gameplay is fun. It does feel a bit rock-paper-scissorsy though, and I think that once one side flops it becomes a bit of a downward slope towards defeat or victory.

I loved playing this, this is actually really fun to play, it fits in theme, the graphics are fantastic, the music is great. I really don't have much to complain about other than there's not more!

i like it, I feel it suffers from a lack of knowing what the enemy is going to do kind of like the old Slay The Spire design before they changed it. But in terms of a game jam its very good. Graphics are clean, mechanics are simple, clean, and work. Music and sfx are also pretty nice.

This game has a pretty simple and fun game loop. I wish that there was a bit more complexity in the decision making, but that might just be a time constraint. Overall a good entry

Really well done. No complaints about what is here. I think the enemy had health beyond just the shield so that would've been cool to see as it was a bit surprising when I didn't win after hitting the enemy without the shield. The strategy was pretty straight forward and I'm sure given more time y'all would've been able to spruce it up that bit more.

⭐ Loved the art and animation. Overall looks very good!

⭐ The little dance that you got when you won was kind of funny.

➖ Possibly a few more options for attacking could add more depth to the gameplay.

Overall, really good!

Good job on coming up with the idea that is simple and fun, because I have trouble doing that. The game play was easy to grasp and had a bit of a strategizing challenge. The graphics were amazing. Also, I found it funny how the characters did a dance when they won.

One other thing: the sound was too loud. (I also have trouble with this).

Thank you all for the comments!

There are two bugs we know about currently, one is that the game sometimes gets stuck for no reason (@sargonius), the other one is that sometimes winning doesn’t trigger despite sending a monster to the opponent with no shield (@austin-c, he is not supposed to have additional health).

@aviv-levy: It is meant to feel a bit rock-paper-scissorsy :) The idea is basically that each of the three things you can summon is strong against one of the others but weak against the third one, so that there isn’t an obvious strategy consisting of always clicking the same button.

We're plannning a post-jam version with in particular support for multiplayer so that you can play with your friends or with strangers (@zablas), but also fixing bugs, cleaning up code, and improving some animations, graphics, and sound (@aucguy).

Stay tuned and let us know if you want to be notified when the post-jam version will be available!

Great entry - it looks and sounds incredible (and also, some some reason, like a Cadbury's advert)
The mechanics feel a bit opaque, and I don't mind that. I like that there's a certain amount of figuring out what does what without any text. Really great work.

The game has a really nice vibe. The environment reminds me a bit of a nightmare before christmas. Took me three rounds to finally win, which is the perfect difficulty. But with such a victory dance... who can be really mad at their evil twin ;)
