Plot twist:

Welcome to Hell!

In this game, you will take on the role of a rune carver to summon creatures.

Complete the training and get this work for ETERNITY.

Have a nice game!

Welcome.png

How to play

We have four mechanisms for editing runes.

Eternal Mode.png

The first is the rune carver. It sets the type of creature to be summoned depending on the shape of the rune: A pentagon is a demon. A circle is a skeleton. An octagon is a cthulhu.

The second is a bottles of paint. They are responsible for the color of the summoned creature.

The third is the inlay machine. It determines the shape of the summoned creature's aura. There are three types: triangular, rhombic and star.

And last, the bottles again. They are responsible for the color of the aura.

Eternal mode

Once you pass the tutorial the Ethernal mode will be unlocked. You will have access to all four mechanisms from the start. But you will only have one right to make a mistake.

Controls

Lots of Iscription vibes :D
Cool game, although the mechanics are quite simple. Great job!

Astonishing high-poly art! 3D-artist did a great job!
Also I very liked how you made a tutorial in game.
It would be great if there were some carving mechanics based on something other than just remembering 3 options.
It's such a pity that Eternal mode is lost on reload. Sound of the trash can is hurting my ears BTW :(
Not bad anyway

Great artwork here! Lots of love to the artist. My biggest nitpick is incorrect usage of some words in eng version)))

Great art and cool idea. The post processing effect really puts the cherry on top. The tutorial at the start is much appreciated, glad you spent the time on it. Would be nice to be able to skip the text with a mouse click or something though, as it stays shown for a pretty long time. Good work!

Yeah, we wanted to add skip on click, but we switched to eternal mode development and forgot about skipping)))
We won't forget next time >:]

As we know, the original of Inscryption (Sacrifices Must Be Made) was also made on Ludum Dare. So the comparison with it pleases us)

Love the gameplay. Sound is very ambient. Gameplay simple but interesting. I wish a little more difficult. Love the vibe.

This game was super fun! As soon as I started the tutorial I immediately got Inscryption vibes! The 3D models and overall art was wonderful and I loved the sound effects a lot. I agree with others that a skip dialogue button would have been good, but overall I really enjoyed it! It would be nice to see how you would expand on it if you continued in the future!

We're thinking about a post-jam version, but not until May. We all have a lot of important things in our lives right now. If we do make a new version, we'll post it on the itch page

The art style is truly unique, love it ! Unfortunately, I encountered difficulty starting the game for an unknown reason However, I still rated it highly for its graphics and concept <3

Really liked the graphics, definitely remind me of Inscryption, and the materials looked really polished, it would've been nice if there were more hints aside from color in the models as to what each item represented, otherwise it was just rote memorization - the shape of the rune (?) worked really well to serve as a reminder, and it would've been nice if the paint was similar. Overall nice job!

Thanks for this game! Having a gradual increase of difficulty was nice and it was fun to see how different combination influence the way the demons look. It was a solid 10 min experience. I liked it!

Minor bugs that didn't influence gameplay:
1. When you pick death vial the color of the particle effect doesn't change to blue.
2. Scrapping the stone changes the assignment (not sure if it's intentional)

Apart from that, great game!

@mnemosynevl Thanks for the feedback!
1. Yeah, I added the aura color in the last hours of development. That's why we didn't have time to test everything and it turned out that I specified the wrong colors in some auras. But it's just a display bug and everything counts correctly
2. It's on purpose. We thought. it would be better, but from the feedback we realized that it would be better to remove this feature in the post-jam of the game

I loved the visuals and atmosphere! Made me think of a dark version of Myst ^^

The gameplay is cool too, but become quickly repetitive once you memorized all the elements... Next step: Add hundreds of them :smiling_imp:

Also, I would have loved that the auras shapes had a meaning like the other elements, instead of directly asking for the shape.

Good game anyway!

It's a good game. The atmosphere is a little creepy) It's necessary to refine the sounds a little. In general, I like memory games. You did well

The game looks good. It took me a second try to understand the rules—the controls aren't very responsive, and it's not immediately clear if I'm clicking the right spot. I managed to get through the tutorial. I think the theme of summoning is well explored.

I liked the atmosphere and the sound design. My only complaint is that the dialogue is extremely slow and unskipabble and that the dialogue where the essence of death is explained is cut off. Otherwise, the gameplay is simple, fun and fast-paced. Grats!

Cool idea! Strong Inscryption vibes.

I wish there was a little more challenge, maybe with a time pressure and/or multiple runes to carve simultaneously.

(also, the game is pretty slow on my PC, maybe you need to optimize a little the lights you're using)

But great job :)

The art is so detailed, the environment is so good, and the fade out shader looks awesome.
But the memory gameplay is too general and not enough fun.
