Note: If the glitch effect and screen shake gets out of hand, you can turn them off in the settings.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄:
This is a wave survival roguelike game where you play as a slime, and kill enemies to harvest their bodies for experience. Level up and unlock new skills overtime, while the enemies get progressively harder. This game was made for Ludum Dare 52 (Harvest) in 72 hours.

𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲:
Survive the wave of enemies, while also shooting them down and harvesting them. Be careful, however, as you can only do one thing at a time: Move, Shoot, or Harvest. Harvest enemies to gain XP and unlock new skills to beat even harder enemies... Harvest the body of the Red Skeleton in order to win.

POST-JAM UPDATE: The itch.io page contains the updated version of the game, while the one embedded on the LD page is the version made fully during the jam. The only difference between the versions is that the old one has a bug where if your computer was laggy, you wouldn't be able to move or shoot... This is fixed in the updated version, and also one skill name was slightly changed. That's it! Cheers!

I found not being able to move while shooting to be a little annoying, but it does make the game more interesting.
Although a few times I got a glitch were I was unable to shoot or move which was annoying.
Also, that's a good idea for the bunnies, but I doubt we would have been able to add it sadly xD
Great submission!
I particularly enjoyed the mix and match of different power ups. It adds a lot replayability to it! Made me wish there was more haha
Not 100% sure how I personally feel about the movement. Especially without any attack or move speed upgrades, the attack animation lock in made the character feel a bit unresponsive. The character moving in steps also made the final boss's attacks a bit harder to dodge. But these might just be part of the planned challenges!
Great work! Love it :D
Really liked the synergy between the power-up that gives your shots a chance to be doubled, and the power-up that lets your bullets move through multiple monsters.
Beat it first time, although the giant red skeleton almost killed me a couple times!

Thank you for playing!
Jokes aside, I really appreciate you taking the time to make a recording- it really puts into perspective various aspects of the game I overlooked in my own playthrough. It's been very insightful. Thank you! ^~^
The graphics look good, nice and cohesive.
Sound works well for the game.
The biggest issue I had was that I didn't seem to have any upgrades that used all the evil bunnies I ate.
VERY NICE GAME I COULDNT PUT IT DOWN VERY SATISFYING AND THE BOSS WAS VERY HARD SOOOO GGOOOOOOOD
the enemies keep me moving freom one side to the other and when i thought im now unbeatable the RED SKELETON BOSS comes out of nowhere, sooo much fuuuunn wooooow
and the main menu is very cool nice effect kudos great jooob
So many upgrades, so many different enemies! And did I mention that it's crazy fun?
Not to mention the _gnarliest_ eating effect I've ever experienced in a game lmao. Talk about _crunchy!_
Also reminds me of the great anime "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" :D
I havent played many other entries yet but I'm sure this will be one of my favourites this Jam.
EDIT: I did have a bug where I couldn't move after Leveling Up so I just ended up dying. Don't know what caused it
and yes, sleep was not our friend xD
What is stomping btw? Never figured that one out though I did beat the game in the end.
The art, audio, and gamefeel all just felt just right. Seemed inspired by 20 min till dawn, which is great bc I love that game lol.
Made it to the end. One of the most polished and fun entries I've played. Suuper great work!
Wait wasn't let the oink out for GMTK jam?
And the main character sprite is so cute!
Good work! :D
All seriousness, make it a bit longer, make it so that enemies dont spawn on top of you, spawn a bigger number of enemies, put a price on the game and ill buy it!!! This is easily my top 3 games of the jam no questions asked! DID I STUTTER!
Okay okay now again all serious... Ive finished the game 4 times, and ill do it once or twice more later today when im done going through multiple games.
Make the stomp radius and slime radius bigger, and add extra levels to those upgrades. My third try i gave it my all just killing enemies by stomping them with the death explosion+slime+movement speed max combo... But it really doesnt deal that much damage so i had to resort to shooting in the end. Its a great way to play and it is that uniqueness that it has over Vampire survivor for example. And also its super cute...
To put it simply i love this game and i hope you do some work on it so i can play more, wish the best to you both!
PS sorry for the rambling
I recorded my gameplay experience in this video,
your game is at the **20:48** mark:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TPsLkQIfYE
Almost want more enemies to fight. Sounds and music are good.
Well Done!
I think the greatest feature is that skeletons get back up if you do not harvest them in time. I also liked the variation in abilities and how they have different tiers once you unlock them.
I thought the game was too easy at first, but then the final boss almost killed me. I could not imagine letting it respawn.
Thanks for playing 'till the end! ^~^
Even gameplay wise its top-notch! While most games just make you feel frustrated, this is one of those rare games where you, as a player, feel like an unstoppable machine, which is a good thing.
One of my favorites! Thanks for the game!
My one complaint is, I wish there was an upgrade that let you move and shoot at the same time, maybe at a reduced speed if you want to keep the current balance? Being forced to stop whenever you shot felt a little crummy, though you get powerful enough it's not a huge deal.
Great job, really liked this one
Found the random healing to be pretty unreliable.
score 5/5 good job.
I was overwhelmed by skeletons on my first run, but figured out what cards are good and got pretty overpowered on my second run fairly quickly and had a lot of fun.
At some point I was expecting a boss or an enemy that I just wouldn't be able to kill by design. So the big red guy was expected. Good game design!
I really liked the sound, animations and responsiveness of controls. Game actually feels polished, it even has a tutorial section. Impressive, very nice!

would appreciate if you could play my entry as well, would love your input!
Sure I'll play your game xD
Sometimes some shadows spawned that didn't move, but I seemingly could attack and collided with. Bug or feature?
I was caught off guard literally when slime was attacked while harvesting, I thought slime were invincible.
But since levelling up is quick in this game, I could fasten harvesting process making it safer and easier to survive.
I wish the level up were quicker but it's okay.
Having an upgrade that allows you to move while shooting <3

The harvesting mechanic is cool and definitely adds some good challenge and tension to a fight, since you're rarely sure if it's safe to stop and harvest for a bit. I really like that the enemy bodies fade out over time, so your harvesting window is pretty limited and you need to prioritize which ones are safe to harvest and (presumably) which ones will give you the most soul/xp. Many of the upgrades synergize well, and it's fun to try a different type of spec on your next run. Excellent work on making a really fun, complete, satisfying game!

I also felt like the healing (both on hit and on absorption) didn't work but maybe they were just really low.
Anyway this was fun to play congratulation :)

@simeon-radivoev @dimesto52 @919113 Thanks for your guys' feedback! Much appreciated!
@dekajoo Thanks! The healing was quite rare yes, and they don't really have any feedback when you get healed other than your health bar increasing slightly... So yeah, it definitely may seem like it does nothing  Anyway thanks for playing!
I would say this is steam-ready game, if you added some roguelite persistent upgrades from total playtime achievements. For example:
* killing `x` archers - 5% change to ignore projectile damage.
* eating `y` rabbits - you start with first speed upgrade.
Ok, fine, maybe you should also add leaderboard scores and bigger variety of bosses :joy:
I'll definitely steal your scoreboard idea if I get the chance next time xD
